‘Marshals’ Season 2 Release Date, Time, Trailer and Where to Watch as Kayce Dutton Is Going Rogue to Save Tate
The wait is almost over for one of the biggest Yellowstone offshoots on television. CBS renewed the series only twelve days after its March premiere, which drew 9.52 million viewers per Nielsen numbers. Now the ‘Marshals‘ second season is ready to pick up with Kayce Dutton in the worst possible place.
Fans have spent months wondering how the show would untangle that brutal finale. The series follows Kayce in the aftermath of the deaths of both his father John and his wife Monica. Here is everything you need to know before the Dutton clan rides back onto your screen.
‘Marshals’ Season 2 Release Date and Time
The first episode will air on Sunday, October 4. Since that is today, you can tune in tonight. The timing depends on your coast, with the East Coast getting it after 60 Minutes at 8.30 p.m. ET and the West Coast at 8 p.m.
The premiere airs at 8.30/7.30c before the show returns to its usual 8/7c slot from the second episode onward. Episodes air Sundays on CBS and then stream on Paramount+ the next day, and the fourth season of ‘Tracker’ follows it on the fall schedule.
Viewers who want to catch up first have an easy option. All of the first season is available to stream on Paramount+.
The new run is also bigger than the last one. The first season ran for thirteen episodes, while Luke Grimes has shared that the sophomore season will land between eighteen and twenty.
Plot Details After That Season 1 Cliffhanger
The finale left Kayce completely in the dark. Season one ended with two hidden gunmen opening fire at Cal and Belle, while Tate left on a trip to Texas with Tom Weaver. Kayce did not know Tom was behind the attacks and had funded a kill squad to acquire East Camp.

CBS has now revealed what happens first. The premiere is titled “All Hat No Cattle,” and the network says Kayce realizes Tate has been taken hostage and goes rogue in a desperate race to save his son. Meanwhile the Marshals uncover a powerful criminal operation tied to the East Camp land grab, and a violent showdown puts everything Kayce cares about at risk.
The rest of the team will be fighting just as hard. Arielle Kebbel has said that when it comes to Tate, everyone is all in with guns blazing. She also hinted at Belle’s condition, saying the character gets hurt a lot and keeps going.
‘Marshals’ Season 2 Cast and New Faces
Almost everyone you remember is coming back. The core cast includes Logan Marshall-Green as Pete “Cal” Calvin, Arielle Kebbel as Belle Skinner-Turek, Ash Santos as Andrea Cruz and Tatanka Means as Miles. Brecken Merrill, Mo Brings Plenty and Gil Birmingham are back as Tate, Mo and Thomas Rainwater.
There is a welcome Yellowstone cameo on the way too. Jefferson White, who played ranch hand Jimmy Hurdstrom on Yellowstone, will reprise that role. Because Tate went missing in Texas, Jimmy could end up helping Kayce with the rescue.
The supporting players are getting a boost as well. One character from the first season is getting a lot more screen time, and Marque Richardson joins in a recurring role as an assistant U.S. attorney. That expanded role hints at more family drama, since Maddie started calling Cal “dad” for the first time before he was diagnosed with cancer.
Trailer Breakdown and What Else to Expect
The official preview arrived with plenty of fireworks. CBS released a two minute trailer, and Andrea even calls Kayce a “chaos magnet” at one point. Kayce also confesses that the Dutton legacy is not about land, saying it is about always having to fight.
It also quiets some worries about the finale’s gunfight. Rainwater, Kayce, Cal, Belle, Miles and even Andrea all appear in the trailer, so the shootout did not wipe out the lead cast. The trailer shows Kayce and the Marshals heading to Texas to rescue Tate and succeeding, but his life is soon at stake again.
Production kept things moving at a fast clip. Filming began in Park City, Utah, in June, just a few weeks after the first season finale in May. The trailer does not reveal any big special guests from the Taylor Sheridan universe.
For a franchise built on family, loyalty and bad decisions, the stakes have rarely felt more personal than a father chasing his kidnapped son across state lines. If Kayce keeps ignoring the rules to bring Tate home, do you think the Marshals can protect him from the fallout, or has he finally gone too far?
