Alexandra Daddario has spent years moving between very different worlds, from playing Annabeth Chase in the ‘Percy Jackson’ films to starring in ‘The White Lotus’. But it’s the dark, gothic universe of Anne Rice that has given her one of her most talked-about roles.

As Rowan Fielding in ‘Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches’, Daddario plays a woman caught at the center of a family bound up in ancient magic and dangerous bloodlines. The AMC series has kept fans hooked on where her story goes next, and they’ve been waiting for answers.

Those answers arrived on Friday, October 9, when Daddario took the Main Stage at New York Comic Con for the show’s panel. She wore a soft pink sequined sleeveless dress with a high neckline, and she was all smiles both in her chair on stage and in front of the convention backdrop. The convention runs from October 8 through October 11 at the Javits Center.

She was joined by co-stars Harry Hamlin, Tongayi Chirisa, Betsy Brandt and Eliza Scanlen. Co-showrunners and executive producers Esta Spalding and Tom Schnauz were there too, along with executive producer Mark Johnson. The panel was moderated by Damian Holbrook of TV Guide Magazine and TV Insider.

The panel delivered an exclusive first look and teaser trailer for the 3rd season, which now carries the subtitle ‘Salem Coven’. The new season premieres on Wednesday, December 30 on AMC and AMC+. For fans who have been waiting, that’s a very specific date to circle.

As the title suggests, the story moves to Salem, Massachusetts, and introduces a darker, revisionist take on witch history. Season 3 picks up with danger looming over the witches and Rowan at the center of it, as ancient magic collides with new bloodlines. Rowan must wield her rising power and confront forces determined to control the fate of the witches.

Daddario and Spalding warned that things will get even worse for the Mayfair family. The new season also introduces new characters, and Rowan becomes more powerful than ever. That’s a promising mix for anyone who likes their witchcraft with real stakes.

The final segment of the panel dug into the deep lore of the Immortal Universe. The group explored how the series adapts Anne Rice’s extensive body of work, and they left the door open to future crossovers. The cast also teased some big changes from the books.

It was a busy day for the network overall. AMC Global Media took over the Main Stage with panels for the new series ‘Kill Jackie’ and ‘YAGA’, along with a look at the final season of ‘The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon’, which premieres in February. ‘Mayfair Witches’ was one of the big draws of the lineup.

Daddario has a reputation for memorable red carpet looks, and she serves as a Dior ambassador. At the 2024 Met Gala, she wore a long burnished gold Dior Haute Couture dress embroidered with butterflies and topped with a gilded headpiece. A year earlier, she walked the same carpet in a Dior gown with cascades of pink beads and faded silver tube details.

Her pink sequined look at the convention was softer and more playful, which suited the energy of a fan-focused event. Against the NYCC backdrop, the shimmering fabric made her one of the most photographed guests of the day.

Fans of ‘Percy Jackson’ also had reason to pay attention to the convention, with Walker Scobell set to preview a new season of Disney+’s ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’. For Daddario, though, the spotlight belonged to Rowan Mayfair and the witches of Salem.
