Lauren Morais Picks Her Favorite MCU Characters, and One Shows Up in ‘VisionQuest’
Landing a role in the MCU is a big moment for any actor, and for Welsh newcomer Lauren Morais, ‘VisionQuest‘ is the biggest break of her career so far. The series arrived on Disney+ on Oct. 14, closing out the trilogy that began with ‘WandaVision’ and introducing her to Marvel fans around the world.
Morais plays Lisa Molinari, a character closely connected to Ruaridh Mollica’s Thomas Shepherd. Her TV credits include ‘Mudtown’, ‘The Red King’ and ‘The Crow Girl’, and she trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama. Her casting was announced in November 2025 alongside comedian Diane Morgan.
Now that she’s officially part of the franchise, Morais has revealed which MCU characters she loves most: Agatha Harkness, Lady Death, Ms. Marvel and E.D.I.T.H. The list leans heavily toward the witchy corner of the MCU, with a fun connection to her own show.
Agatha Harkness, played by Kathryn Hahn, was introduced in ‘WandaVision’ as Wanda and Vision’s nosy neighbor Agnes before her true identity was revealed. She later headlined ‘Agatha All Along’ in 2024, and her popularity helped earn her a series of her own. In the comics, she first appeared in ‘Fantastic Four’ #94 and is one of the original witches from the Salem witch trials.
Lady Death, played by Aubrey Plaza, made her big reveal in ‘Agatha All Along’ and made headlines everywhere. She was presented as Agatha’s former lover and the living embodiment of death itself. The character debuted in Marvel Comics in 1973’s ‘Captain Marvel’ #26.
Ms. Marvel is a different kind of pick. Iman Vellani plays Kamala Khan, the first Muslim hero in the MCU, a superhero-obsessed teen growing up in a Pakistani household in Jersey City. Her series gave the franchise one of its most energetic and youthful leads.
E.D.I.T.H. is the pick closest to home. Emily Hampshire plays the AI in ‘VisionQuest’, which reportedly gives one of Tony Stark’s most powerful creations an on-screen identity for the first time. That means Morais named a character that she now shares a cast list with.
It’s also notable that two of her favorites, Agatha and Lady Death, come from the same trilogy that ‘VisionQuest’ wraps up. Her choices suggest she’s a genuine fan of the corner of the MCU she has now joined.

The eight-episode series shot at Pinewood Studios and is part of the MCU’s Phase Six. The first two episodes debuted Oct. 14, with the remaining six releasing weekly through Nov. 11. The cast and creators also attended a U.K. premiere screening at the BFI London Film Festival, and the score is by Emmy-winning composer Mick Giacchino.
In the story, Vision has been rebooted and is in hiding, searching for new meaning. He consults the AI personas embedded in his programming, including F.R.I.D.A.Y., E.D.I.T.H., J.A.R.V.I.S. and Ultron. A bounty on his head puts him on the run with Thomas Shepherd, a mysterious boy who may be Vision’s son reincarnated.

Reception has been varied. A surprise screening at New York Comic Con drew glowing first reactions, while critics have been more divided. Variety’s review said the series struggles to connect emotionally, and another early review called it a mixed bag heavy on MCU references, though some outlets praised its themes and performances.
Showrunner Terry Matalas has said he is a huge fan of ‘WandaVision’ and watched every episode twice before taking over the project. Jac Schaeffer, who created ‘WandaVision’ and ‘Agatha All Along’, remains an executive producer.
For Morais, the series is a major step up and a first taste of the franchise she clearly loves. If her favorites are any indication, she’s already thinking like a Marvel fan.
