Hailey Bieber Serves Serious Leg in a Crystal-Covered Mini at Adanola Launch

Hailey Bieber has long been known as the queen of the teeny tiny going-out dress, but her newest project draws on something far more disciplined: 12 years of ballet training. That background is the foundation of her collaboration with the activewear brand Adanola.

The Manchester-based label was founded in 2015 by brothers Josh and Hyrum Cook, and it has previously worked with Kendall Jenner, Lila Moss and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Bieber’s capsule is its biggest celebrity collaboration to date, and it took more than a year to develop. She suggested the ballet theme and weighed in on colors, fabrics, silhouettes and fit.

The 23-piece collection includes the Shawl Knit Bolero, Modal Overlay Trousers, rib knit leg warmers in dusty mauve, a polar fleece and a co-branded sling bag. Its pieces nod to the DIY ways dancers customize their studio clothes, like ruching trousers, cutting tights into bolero tops and cropping sweaters.

To celebrate, Bieber stepped out in Los Angeles on Oct. 13 for a launch event for the line, and she did not hold back on the glam. She wore a custom Ferragamo halter mini that she and her stylist, Dani Michelle, dreamed up specifically for the occasion.

Up close, the dress is more than it appears. W reports that it is washed silk covered in a net embellished entirely with crystals, which creates the look of sequins. The result is a skin-skimming silhouette with a delicate halter strap, bare shoulders and a hemline that left plenty of leg on show.

Outlets couldn’t quite agree on the shade, with some calling it beige and others gold, depending on the light. The layering technique also echoes Bieber’s beloved satin ’90s slips, according to W.

She kept everything else sleek. Her hair was slicked back into a ballerina-style bun, and she added slim black sunglasses, diamond earrings, a glossy lip and black pointed slingback heels. Marie Claire noted that the simple accessories let the “little beige dress” do all the shining.

It’s the latest in a gilded streak. Two weeks earlier, Bieber hosted a Rhode party during Paris Fashion Week in another gold mini, a Saint Laurent archive piece. Marie Claire called the Ferragamo look a made-for-the-holidays number, joking that she had launched holiday style early.

Adanola’s chief executive, Niran Chana, has described Bieber as an icon of her generation and the businesswoman behind Rhode, and a muse for the brand for a long time. Founder Hyrum Cook has said she knew exactly what she wanted. Bieber, for her part, has said she is selective about collaborations, and that her previous clothing project was for her husband Justin’s brand, Skylrk.

The partnership comes as Adanola pushes deeper into the U.S. market. Glossy reported that Vogue Business had noted the brand passing £50 million in annual revenue, and that Jenner was its biggest influencer bet yet as it tried to raise awareness stateside.

The campaign itself leans into a moody, after-dark atmosphere. It was photographed and directed by Angelo Pennetta in Los Angeles, with Michelle styling the activewear with a downtown edge. The campaign video shows Bieber returning en pointe in a studio at night.

The capsule went on sale Oct. 15 through Adanola’s website at 7 p.m. UK time. Prices reportedly range from £34 to £100.

Bieber’s week was busy beyond the party. After the dinner, she appeared at the Fortune Most Powerful Women Summit to discuss Rhode, the skincare brand valued at $1 billion.

Between ballet-inspired knitwear and a crystal-covered mini built for the holidays, she’s making a strong case that she can dominate both the gym bag and the party circuit.
