‘Sweat’ Star Ana de Armas Embraces Mystery on Harper’s Bazaar Spain’s Striking November Covers
Ana de Armas has long been a natural fit for fashion magazines. Her mix of old-Hollywood glamour and a modern, understated cool has made her a regular on covers and red carpets alike. Even in a year without a new acting credit, she has stayed firmly in the spotlight.
Born in Havana in 1988, she moved to Madrid at 18 and became a celebrity in Spain through the series ‘El Internado’. From there she built a Hollywood career with ‘Blade Runner 2049’, ‘Knives Out’ and ‘No Time to Die’. Her Oscar-nominated turn in ‘Blonde’ made her the first Cuban nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress.

Now the actress is back on the newsstand, appearing on a pair of covers for the November issue of Harper’s Bazaar España. Billed as the beauty issue, the covers carry a cover line that translates to the art of inhabiting mystery. It’s a fitting theme for an actress who has always kept an air of intrigue around her.
On the first cover, de Armas wears a black jacket with a textured, shimmering finish and a raised collar. Her long, dark hair falls in loose waves, and she pairs the look with a layered statement necklace while resting one hand on her chest. The pose is quiet and confident.
The second cover goes in a different direction. She sits sideways with her chin resting on her hand, wearing a black satin jacket, a sparkling collar-style necklace and drop earrings. Her hair is loose and tousled, and the look is moodier and more sculptural than the first.
The covers cap a busy few weeks for her wardrobe. On October 17, de Armas attended the Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles in a custom black velvet Louis Vuitton gown. The strapless design had a plunging neckline and a mermaid skirt, and she completed it with Louis Vuitton’s Sirius necklace.
A few days earlier, she appeared at the Louis Vuitton show during Paris Fashion Week with her new boyfriend, Venezuelan singer Beto Montenegro. She is a longtime ambassador for the house, which explains how often the label appears in her biggest looks. Taken together, it’s been a run of striking black ensembles, and the Bazaar covers fit right in.
De Armas hasn’t had a new acting credit in 2026, with her most recent role coming in 2025’s ‘Ballerina’. That film marked the first time she solo-led an action movie. It grossed around $130 million worldwide against a budget that reportedly grew to $90 million, and it has found a strong second life on streaming.
The break is expected to end soon. She is set to star in ‘Sweat’, a psychological thriller in which she plays an ambitious fitness influencer named Emma Kent, with production having begun on March 30. She will also star with Jennifer Connelly in the Apple TV+ drama series ‘Safe Houses’, an 8-episode series from Gideon Raff.
Other projects include ‘Deeper’, a supernatural ocean thriller, and ‘Reenactment’, a thriller from director Grant Singer that is reportedly in post-production. None of these has a confirmed release date, which leaves fans waiting for a more concrete schedule.
The cover theme feels earned for an actress who has kept a notable amount of her life private. Her career is built on roles that blend vulnerability with quiet intensity, from Joi in ‘Blade Runner 2049’ to Marilyn Monroe in ‘Blonde’. A magazine concept built around mystery works because audiences are still curious about her next move.
The covers also play to her strengths as a fashion icon, with each look serving a different mood. One is soft and introspective, while the other leans glamorous and bold. Together they show a star who is comfortable both in front of the camera and in the spotlight.
With several projects lined up and a steady stream of fashion moments, de Armas is clearly preparing for a big return.
