‘Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man’ Is Already Planning More New Report Confirms
Marvel Animation has found a winning formula with a young Peter Parker. ‘Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man‘ leans into the character’s early comic book roots, and fans have been waiting patiently for more since its first season wrapped. Now the people behind the show are making it clear that the web-slinger’s story is far from over.
The Disney+ series premiered on January 29, 2025, and ran for 10 episodes through February 19. Hudson Thames voices Peter, with Kari Wahlgren as Aunt May and Colman Domingo as Norman Osborn. The first season ended with Spider-Man and Doctor Strange teaming up against a mysterious symbiote alien.
Creator and showrunner Jeff Trammell has now revealed that the production is looking well past the next season. Speaking to Collider at New York Comic Con, Trammell said “no one’s stopping me” before confirming that the team is already working on both season 3 and season 4. It is a notable admission, since season 4 has never been formally announced.
Marvel previously confirmed season 3, but has not made an official renewal beyond that. That means the fourth season is, for now, a creative plan rather than a greenlight with a date attached. Still, working ahead is a good sign for fans worried about another long gap.
The next chapter arrives on January 13, 2027, on Disney+. Marvel announced the date at New York Comic Con on October 8, and it is later than originally planned. The season had been targeted for fall 2026 before slipping into the new year.
Marvel Television and Animation head Brad Winderbaum has said the shift was meant to give the show a good place to live and breathe. The premiere will land less than a month after ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ opens in theaters. It will also kick off Marvel Studios’ 2027 slate, ahead of the final season of ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ in March.

The upcoming episodes will bring back classic Spider-Man villains. Rhino, Lizard and Venom are all expected, and Gwen Stacy will appear as Ghost-Spider. Trammell has also teased bigger roles for Nico Minoru, Eddie Brock and Norman.
The key art released alongside the news shows Spider-Man in a partly black symbiote suit, with a Venom silhouette looming behind him. That matches the symbiote cliffhanger from the first season. It hints that Peter’s story is about to take a darker turn.
Grace Song voices Nico Minoru, Zeno Robinson plays Harry Osborn and Eugene Byrd voices Tombstone. Hugh Dancy plays Doctor Octopus, and Charlie Cox appears as Daredevil. Many of these voices are expected to return as the show expands.
Trammell serves as creator, showrunner and head writer, with Mel Zwyer as supervising director. Executive producers include Brad Winderbaum, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito and Dana Vasquez-Eberhardt. The stable creative team is part of why the series has felt so consistent.

Reports suggest season 3 could arrive a year after season 2, which would put it in 2028. No dates have been set for either season 3 or season 4. Winderbaum has said he wants a new Spider-Man season every year, which would be a marked change from the wait between the first two seasons.
That kind of cadence would help the show build momentum. It would also give Trammell room to tell a multi-season story about Peter’s growth. The decision to work ahead suggests Marvel sees the series as a long-term pillar of its animation slate.
The announcement shows a franchise that is confident in its direction. Spider-Man has had many versions on screen, but this one has stood out for its warmth and comic book flavor. Knowing that more seasons are already being built gives fans reason to stay invested.
For now, the first season is streaming on Disney+, and season 2 is only a few months away. Until the new episodes arrive, the next best thing is a rewatch.
