Marvel Is Dominating the Top 10 Series List on Disney+ in the United States
When Marvel launched ‘WandaVision’ on Disney+ in January 2021, it turned the studio’s first big streaming experiment into a pop culture event. The nine-episode miniseries won praise for its sitcom homages and the performances of Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany and Kathryn Hahn, and it became the foundation for a growing corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe on television. It has since spawned two follow-ups, and it has a way of resurfacing whenever the franchise returns to its roots.
That trilogy is now complete. ‘Agatha All Along’ arrived in 2024 and continued the story with Kathryn Hahn’s witch, and Marvel Television’s ‘VisionQuest‘ premiered on October 13 as the final chapter. The show is the 18th television series in the MCU, and it arrives just ahead of ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ in December.
The result is a streaming chart that looks unusually Marvel-heavy. ‘VisionQuest’ is sitting at No. 1 among series on Disney+ in the United States, ‘WandaVision’ is at No. 4, ‘Agatha All Along’ is at No. 7 and ‘Loki’ holds down the final spot on the chart.
According to FlixPatrol, ‘VisionQuest’ became the most-watched show on Disney+ in the US within days of its two-episode premiere. It is also reported to be trending on the service in 75 countries and ranking No. 1 in 73 of them, and its arrival bumped ‘WandaVision’ back to third place on the global chart.
The success is helped by the series’ reception. It holds a Rotten Tomatoes critics score of around 90% and debuted with an 88% audience score, which places it alongside ‘WandaVision,’ ‘Hawkeye’ and ‘Moon Knight’ among the best-rated streaming series in the MCU. Not every critic was won over, though, and Variety’s reviewer felt the show has too many ideas and struggles to connect emotionally.

Created by Terry Matalas, the eight-episode series follows a rebooted Vision, played by Paul Bettany, who is hiding out and working at a pub in Edinburgh. He is trying to make sense of memories that aren’t quite his and consults the AI personas embedded in his programming, including F.R.I.D.A.Y. (Orla Brady), E.D.I.T.H. (Emily Hampshire), J.A.R.V.I.S. (James D’Arcy), D.U.M-E (Henry Lewis) and U (Jonathan Sayer).
His quiet life ends when a bounty hunter known as Paladin, played by Todd Stashwick, abducts a teenager named Thomas Shepherd (Ruaridh Mollica), who may be Vision’s reincarnated son. James Spader returns as Ultron, appearing in human form as a dangerous persona behind a firewall in Vision’s mind, and the series casts that relationship as its central pillar.

The more surprising part of the story is how the new release is lifting the older titles around it. ‘WandaVision’ remains the best-reviewed entry in the trilogy with a 92% critics score, while ‘Agatha All Along’ sits at 84%. A new episode of ‘VisionQuest’ arrives each week through the run, which keeps casual viewers circling back to revisit the earlier shows.
That also explains the presence of ‘Loki’ on the chart. Collider noted that ‘WandaVision’ and ‘Loki’ have climbed Disney+’s rankings alongside the new show, a reminder of how much staying power Marvel’s series have even years after their debuts.

Marvel is not alone in the Halloween-season mix. Overall, ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ ranks second on Disney+, followed by ‘Hocus Pocus,’ ‘Halloweentown’ and ‘Hocus Pocus 2,’ with ‘Toy Story 5’ and ‘Coven Academy’ also in the mix. Even so, ‘VisionQuest’ has held onto the top of the series rankings.
The show has not been renewed. It was conceived as the conclusion of the trilogy, although that doesn’t rule out these characters returning in other Marvel projects. Given the numbers, the studio will have plenty of reason to keep paying attention to its Disney+ catalog as ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ approaches.
