Jessica Alba (45) Turns Up the Heat in Ruffled Black Couture: Smoldering Instagram Post Follows Her Academy Museum Gala Showstopper
Jessica Alba has never been shy about a good fashion moment. The actress and Honest Company founder has built a reputation for polished red carpet looks, and her recent run of public appearances has kept her firmly in the style conversation.
The latest chapter began on October 17, when Alba attended the sixth annual Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles. She also sits on the gala’s host committee, which includes names like Judd Apatow, Leslie Mann, Adrien Brody and Georgina Chapman, so the event was a big night for her.
Now the look is back in the spotlight. On October 21, Alba shared a fresh set of photos on Instagram showing her in a black dress with a ruffled neckline and a striking green gemstone pendant. The images, which show her posed against pale blue curtains, have been circulating widely online and keep the glamour of the gala going.

The dress at the center of it all is a custom gown by Tamara Ralph Couture. The design features a structured strapless neckline decorated with hand-pleated organza ruffles, set against smooth black silk crepe, with an expansive train that added movement on the carpet.

Rather than relying on bright color or heavy embellishment, the gown made its statement through shape, texture and proportion. The ruffles framed the upper portion of the dress with a sculptural effect, giving the monochrome look a distinctive sense of drama. Alba was styled by Dani Michelle.

The jewelry gave the look its edge. Alba wore sparkling floral diamond earrings alongside a delicate gold chain necklace featuring a large green gemstone pendant topped with a silver bird figurine.
That pop of green against the black gown created a focal point without overwhelming the neckline’s intricate ruffles. It is also the detail that stands out most in her Instagram photos, where the pendant sits front and center as she poses with her arms folded.

Alba wasn’t alone in making an impression. Demi Moore wore a dramatic two-tone gown and Kate Hudson embraced old Hollywood glamour in a sparkling strapless creation, so the competition was stiff. Even so, her ruffled, train-heavy gown stood out for its texture and movement rather than sheer flash.
Her boyfriend, actor Danny Ramirez, also attended the event, though the pair made separate appearances on the red carpet. The couple has been together since 2025 and has been spotted at a number of high-profile events this year.

The glamorous images arrive in the middle of a busy stretch for Alba. She has gone from a long break away from acting to a slate that includes projects across nearly every genre, including the biographical sports drama ‘Maserati: The Brothers’. Fans know her from ‘Fantastic Four’, ‘Sin City’ and ‘Dark Angel’, and from the Spectrum series ‘L.A.’s Finest’.
Her social feed has been just as active. From a plunging black slip dress on a night out with her eldest daughter to a Vanity Fair Oscar party look earlier this year, black has become something of a signature for her recent posts. The Instagram set from the gala fits right into that pattern.
Part of the appeal is how classic it feels. A black gown, bold jewelry and soft styling can look simple on paper, but Alba’s version has enough texture and detail to feel fresh, and the response online suggests fans noticed. At 45, she is clearly enjoying a moment where fashion and career momentum are lining up.
Whether she is walking a red carpet or sharing a quiet photo dump, Alba keeps showing that a well-chosen black dress and one standout accessory can carry a whole look.
