Few fan designs have made the leap from a crowdsourcing page to store shelves quite like the LEGO Ideas Godzilla. After years of anticipation, the monster’s official brick-built debut now looks very close, with new leaked photos suggesting the set is already sitting in stores.

The model started life as a fan submission, and LEGO’s Ideas team has been working on the final version with its creator ever since. The finished product is expected to be a huge display piece aimed at adult collectors.

The newest leak offers the most detailed look yet at box art and specs for set number 21375. The images, reportedly taken in a store, point to a 5,360-piece build priced at $450, arriving on Black Friday, November 27, along with a free Godzilla Footprint gift with purchase numbered 40888.

The box art shows the Titan in a towering upright pose with glowing blue dorsal plates running down his back. A second panel shows an atomic breath effect streaking from his mouth, along with a smaller image of the character standing in the ocean. The box also carries the 18+ label and the LEGO Ideas branding.

The look follows the modern MonsterVerse design. According to earlier rumors, the build will have a bulky body, a jagged stance and translucent blue plates that capture his charged-up state. The set is also said to include a poseable head, a removable atomic breath piece and a swappable tongue element, though these details remain unconfirmed.

Reports also claim the set stands somewhere between 55 and 60 centimeters tall and includes no minifigures.

Earlier leaks claimed that the set would arrive with a gift with purchase featuring Godzilla’s footprint. That claim now looks stronger, as the leaked photos carry the footprint’s set number and say it will be available while supplies last.

An earlier report described the bonus as including a printed Mothra piece, though its final size and design have not been revealed. Gifts with purchase tied to big releases tend to sell out quickly, so collectors targeting launch day may need to move fast.

The origin story is a classic Ideas success. Fan designer MattE720 submitted a Godzilla build inspired by the Legendary Pictures films, including ‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters’ and ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’. The submission reached 10,000 supporters and was selected for production after LEGO’s third review of 2024.

LEGO has confirmed that the fan designer would work with its own designers to turn the idea into an official set. That collaboration is now apparently about to bear fruit.

The leaks have not been entirely consistent. Some reports have pointed to a price of around $450, while others have suggested a figure closer to €400 in Europe, and piece counts have been quoted as 5,360 or 5,364. The box in the leaked photo even lists a slightly different count from the overlay text.

Those small differences are typical of pre-launch leaks, and the final details will become clear once LEGO makes the official announcement. If the piece count holds, it would rank among the largest LEGO Ideas sets ever, with one outlet noting it could surpass the River Steamboat.

LEGO has also teased a big announcement event on November 3 at 18:00, which many in the community assume will be this set. That would line up neatly with a Black Friday release.

The timing could hardly be better for Godzilla fans. One report has noted that the set’s arrival lines up with the release of the next Godzilla movie, ‘Godzilla Minus Zero’, which is also expected in November.

For collectors, the real question is whether a roughly $450 display model can justify its footprint on the shelf, in every sense. Early signs are promising, with a striking design, a clever blue-plate effect and a bonus piece that sweetens the launch.

Until LEGO confirms the final details, it is wise to treat the leaked numbers as provisional. Still, with release day less than a month away, the countdown to LEGO’s biggest Ideas monster is officially underway.
