‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Promo Art Lines Up Doom, the Fantastic Four, the New Avengers and the X-Men for a Mega Showdown
Marvel Studios has never been shy about piling heroes into a single frame, but the marketing for ‘Avengers: Doomsday‘ is taking that tradition to a new level. The latest ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ promo art splits the film’s gigantic ensemble into neat team portraits, offering one of the clearest looks yet at how the studio is organizing its crossover.
The campaign has been rolling out gradually for months. Marvel has released concept art, merchandise images and poster variations, with each reveal adding another layer to what is shaping up to be the studio’s biggest team-up in years.
The newest set of images presents Doctor Doom, the Fantastic Four, the Avengers, the New Avengers and the X-Men as separate groups, each with its own emblem. It reads like a lineup card for a multiversal showdown.

Doom stands alone in his panel, wearing a hooded green cloak over dark armor with a towering structure behind him. The Fantastic Four panel shows Reed, Sue, Johnny and Ben in their blue-and-white suits, with Johnny’s flames bursting across the top and the team’s 4 logo behind them.
The Avengers panel features Thor with his hammer, Ant-Man, a shield-wielding hero in Captain America’s colors and Shang-Chi, all arranged around the team’s A insignia. The New Avengers panel shows Red Guardian, Yelena, U.S. Agent and a metal-armed figure, a group once known as the Thunderbolts.
The X-Men get the most crowded panel, with Professor X in his wheelchair at the front. Behind him are Magneto, Cyclops, Beast, Mystique, Gambit and Nightcrawler, all standing under the X logo.
The ensemble is a mix of newcomers and returning favorites. Robert Downey Jr. plays Doctor Doom, while Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach make up the Fantastic Four.
On the mutant side, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Kelsey Grammer, James Marsden and Alan Cumming return, alongside Channing Tatum as Gambit and Rebecca Romijn as Mystique. Chris Hemsworth is back as Thor, Chris Evans returns as Steve Rogers and Tom Hiddleston is set to reprise Loki.
The New Avengers side includes Florence Pugh, David Harbour and Wyatt Russell, while Anthony Mackie, Simu Liu and Paul Rudd also appear among the Avengers.
This is far from the first time the studio has shown off its roster. Earlier concept art unveiled at an expo in Shanghai gave fans a detailed look at Doom, the X-Men and the film’s heroes, with the characters grouped by team and Doom and Loki looming above. That image was created by former Marvel visual development director Andy Park.
Promotional artwork has also surfaced through merchandise, including a gift set listing that showed Doom alongside Mr. Fantastic, Beast, The Thing, Cyclops, Captain America, Yelena and Thor. Other pieces have used bold taglines such as Doom Has No Rivals and Doom Supreme.
Marvel has also spotlighted Latveria itself, with a retro-styled poster describing the kingdom as a gift from Doom while warning that anyone crossing its borders will be disintegrated.
Marvel has kept plot details under wraps, but the framing is hard to miss. Earlier promo art placed the Avengers, Fantastic Four and X-Men logos colliding in one image, which some outlets read as a hint that 3 separate Earths will converge in a three-way Incursion. That reading remains speculation rather than confirmation.
What is confirmed is the basic setup. The Avengers, the Wakandans, the Fantastic Four, the New Avengers and the X-Men are all expected to team up against Doom, who is played by Downey in a major departure from his previous role as Tony Stark.
Concept art should always be taken with a grain of salt. As one outlet noted, character placement, costumes and even the roster itself could change during production, so the portraits are not necessarily a literal depiction of the finished film.
