Eric Kripke Is Absolutely Terrified About Delivering a Great Series Finale for ‘The Boys’: “You could have the greatest show for years, but if you stiff that ending…”

Season 4 of The Boys ended recently on a very high and very grim note. And while the second season of Gen V is up next, everyone is really waiting for the fifth and final season of the main series.

The Boys have been pushing the boundaries of television for years now and the series has also been exploring the darkest and most problematic aspects of our society. The mastermind behind the whole concept is Eric Kripke, the series’ showrunner.

In a recent interview, Kripke talked about the final season of The Boys and he revealed his fears about delivering the perfect series finale for the series, and he actually makes a lot of sense.

Kripke revealed that they were currently in the middle of production of Season 5 and he admitted that he is quite terrified over the series finale. “You can count in one, maybe two hands, the truly great series finales… the graveyard is literally filled with terrible series finales,” he said.

And that is true, as you probably know. You can, we are sure, remember numerous shows that were great throughout their runs but ended with a horrible final episode, which ruined the overall experience. And that is what Kripke wants to avoid.

“You could have the greatest show for years, but if you stiff that ending, and that’s what’s sending everyone out in the parking lot, they go, ‘Oh, maybe that show wasn’t that good’,” Kripke added.

This has been discussed by Kripke on more than one occasion and yes, The Boys is a show that really deserves an epic ending. Not that other shows don’t, but with how impactful and intense the series has been, it has to have a proper and just conclusion that will tie all the loose knots and give the series the farewell it deserves.
