With numerous Marvel projects said to be in the works for the next couple of years, talk around Thor 5 is starting to pick up. While nothing has been confirmed yet, fans are definitely buzzing.

Director Taika Waititi recently responded to questions about whether he’d return for a fifth Thor movie, but he didn’t sound too interested. He said it’s not something he’s currently working on or planning to do anytime soon.

That update was a bit of a relief for many fans. While Waititi directed Thor: Ragnarok, which was widely praised, he also made Thor: Love and Thunder, which many consider the weakest in the series.

Chris Hemsworth Ditches Extreme Workouts for Smarter Training in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ As His Personal Trainer Reveals his Workout & Diet Plan

Meanwhile, Chris Hemsworth is confirmed to return as Thor in Avengers: Doomsday, something Marvel made official during a live-streamed cast reveal. His trainer even shared details about Hemsworth’s intense workouts and strict diet as he gets ready to play the God of Thunder again.

There’s also a new rumor floating around about another project related to Thor. According to insider Daniel Richtman, Marvel is working on something called Thor Quest. Richtman shared the info through his Patreon page, but details are still unclear. It’s not known whether it’s a movie, a show, or something else entirely.

Interestingly, Thor Quest isn’t a brand-new title. In 2023, Disney Books released a children’s novel called Thor Quest: Hammers of the Gods. The story followed a young Thor, Loki, Sif, and Fandral as they went on an adventure full of monsters and mistakes.

The book told the story of how Thor first came across Mjolnir and was written from Fandral’s point of view. It featured comic panels, maps, and illustrations meant to appeal to younger readers.

Co-author Jackson Lanzing said, “This is the untold story of how Thor first encountered the hammer that would change his life forever told from the perspective of his best friend, Fandral, and his newest rival, Sif. Young fans can expect to get a whole new perspective on the God of Thunder and his incredible, adventurous world.”

There’s no word yet on whether Marvel’s rumored Thor Quest project is connected to this book, but it’s probably not aimed at kids. Still, the timing and title make some fans wonder if there’s a link or some inspiration drawn from the illustrated novel.

Until Marvel makes something official, everything about Thor 5 and Thor Quest remains up in the air. But with Hemsworth back in action and rumors heating up, it’s clear that the God of Thunder still has more to offer in the MCU.
