Milly Alcock Shares Superman Meme on Social Media, Hinting at How Different Her Supergirl Will Be in Upcoming Movie

Superman has finally hit theaters around the world, and it’s already breaking records. This film is important not just because it’s the first live-action movie in James Gunn’s new DC Universe, but also because it introduced many new heroes and villains.

Fans got to see characters like Mr. Terrific, Metamorpho, and Guy Gardner, along with bad guys such as Ultraman and Lex Luthor.

One of the biggest surprises in the movie was the arrival of Supergirl. Played by Milly Alcock, Supergirl appeared for the first time in live-action under Gunn’s new DCU. She showed up toward the end of the movie, not in the way fans expected.

In the scene, she comes back to Earth just to get her dog, Krypto. But what shocked fans even more was her behavior. Kara was clearly drunk and even called Superman a “bi***” at one point.

Superman later explained the reason behind her state. He said that Kara likes to party on planets near red suns, since yellow suns give Kryptonians their powers and also make their metabolism too fast to actually get drunk on Earth. That’s why she goes elsewhere to drink, where she can feel it like humans do.

After the movie’s release, Milly Alcock added to the fun by sharing a meme on her social media. She posted a picture of herself looking messy, smoking a cigarette, and scrolling through her phone, with the caption: “Supergirl while Metropolis is almost destroyed.” Fans saw it as a funny nod to her chaotic version of Supergirl.

Director James Gunn also spoke about Alcock’s Supergirl in an interview. He said: “She’s a total mess. I mean, I think as we learn, she’s had a completely different background from Superman. A much more difficult background. He’s had this wonderful upbringing by these two parents that loved him and were very healthy. And her background was much different than that.”

Alcock’s Supergirl will get her own solo movie next year, where her character will be explored much more. The movie will show Kara going on a wild adventure. According to the comic it’s based on, she will find herself on an alien world where she helps lead a rebellion against evil rulers.

In DC Comics, Kara Zor-El comes from Argo City, a different part of Krypton. She was sent to Earth at the same time as her cousin Kal-El, but since she was already a young woman, her mission was to protect him. However, her ship didn’t make it straight to Earth. By the time she arrived, Superman had already grown up, leaving her feeling lost and alone.

Supergirl’s solo movie is coming to theaters on June 26, 2026. Fans are already excited to see more of this wild, chaotic version of Kara. Until then, people can enjoy the hints and teasers like the one Milly Alcock shared online, showing just how different this Supergirl will be from any we’ve seen before.
