The future of the DC Universe is looking bright. With Superman smashing box office records and earning praise from both critics and fans, the next wave of DC movies is already lined up.

Supergirl will hit theaters next year with her own solo film, and many other projects are in the works. These include movies focused on Clayface, The Authority, Batman, Swamp Thing, Wonder Woman, Justice League, Teen Titans, Bane, and Deathstroke.

But it’s not just movies that fans can look forward to. On the TV side, DC Studios also has several shows planned. These include Lanterns, which is expected in early 2026, a Waller series being developed by Christal Henry and Jeremy Carver, Paradise Lost, and a Booster Gold series. However, it sounds like even more could be on the way very soon.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, James Gunn, who runs DC Studios, shared that another DC TV show is very close to being approved. He didn’t say which show it was, but he made it clear it could happen any day now.

Gunn said, “There’s some other things that are really close to green-lighting — like there’s a television show that I hope that we’re gonna be green-lighting in the next few days.”

When asked about reports that DC was “fast-tracking” a new Wonder Woman movie, Gunn laughed and explained, “I don’t know what they mean by fast-tracking. I’ve always had Wonder Woman as a priority. But we got the first few things started, and there’s some other things that are really close to green-lighting.”

He also mentioned that both Wonder Woman and Batman are essential to DC’s plans moving forward. Gunn said, “We really need Wonder Woman and we really need Batman, because they’re so important to us. And so it’s become a little bit more like going to everybody at DC and being like, we need to figure this out.”

He explained that they have good writers working on the new Wonder Woman movie, but they want to make sure the script works and that it doesn’t take too long to get written.

At the end of the conversation, the interviewer joked about a possible Bat-Mite TV show, and Gunn played along, saying, “Yeah, the HBO Bat-Mite show. $150 million an episode.”

Though Gunn didn’t reveal any details about which TV show is close to being approved, fans can expect an announcement soon. The DCU has a lot in the pipeline, and Gunn’s update shows that DC Studios is working hard to get more stories into production.
