Fans of Percy Jackson can now get a better idea of what’s coming next. Entertainment Weekly has just released a brand new look at Season 2 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, and it’s clear the adventure is about to get bigger and wilder.

According to Disney+, the second season will arrive in December 2025 and will follow the story from the second book, The Sea of Monsters. The show’s young stars are also sharing stories from the set, and it sounds like filming has been pretty intense.

Walker Scobell is back as Percy, and he’s already gotten hurt — but not from any monster fight. He told Entertainment Weekly, “I fell out of bed, and in one take, I headbutted the ground with my chin.” He even joked about how his giant bruise was visible on camera during filming. Scobell wasn’t the only one dealing with injuries.

Leah Jeffries, who plays Annabeth, ended up with a real cut on her face from her prop dagger. Aryan Simhadri, who plays Grover, said he kept getting nosebleeds on set. Dior Goodjohn, playing Clarisse, ripped off a fingernail during a fight scene in a freezer. Even Charlie Bushnell, who plays Luke, managed to hurt himself just by trying to put on a jacket. Scobell teased him about it, saying, “I was messing with him a lot about that.” Bushnell admitted, “Not my proudest moment, that’s for sure.”

This season takes Percy and the others on a bigger journey. After returning to Camp Half-Blood, Percy finds everything changed. His friend Grover has gone missing, Annabeth is acting strangely, and Luke is preparing for a full attack.

Percy sets off on a quest through the Sea of Monsters, which in this story is hidden inside the Bermuda Triangle. Clarisse, the tough daughter of Ares, is also trying to save the camp by finding the Golden Fleece.

Season 2 will look a lot different from the first one. Last season was filmed mostly using virtual sets indoors. But for Season 2, the production went bigger. According to Simhadri, “Those have to be real. Those have to be grand. And it was just so insane seeing those come to life.” Real ships, battlefields, and islands were built to create iconic scenes like the warship battle, chariot races, and the lair of the cyclops Polyphemus.

Executive producer Dan Shotz said filming in real locations made the show feel much larger.

Season 2 will also bring new faces. Daniel Diemer is joining as Tyson, Percy’s cyclops brother. The cast also includes Dior Goodjohn as Clarisse and Charlie Bushnell as Luke in larger roles this time. Albert Kim has come in as a new executive producer starting with this season.

Disney+ renewed the series for this second season back in February 2024 and confirmed a third season in March 2025, which will adapt The Titan’s Curse, the third book in Rick Riordan’s popular series. Writing for the third season has already started.

For fans waiting for more adventures from the young demigods, this new look shared by Empire magazine is a sign that Percy Jackson’s next journey is going to be even bigger than the last.
