Filming for Spider-Man: Brand New Day has officially kicked off, and fans are already buzzing. Production began on August 1, 2025, in Glasgow, Scotland, and it didn’t take long before photos and videos from the set started making their way online.

These early looks have given fans plenty to talk about, from Spider-Man’s brand-new suit to what could be hints at the villains he’ll be facing next.

Over the past couple of days, two full glimpses of Tom Holland’s new Spider-Man costume have been revealed. The suit, shown off in teasers and leaked set shots, has already made waves online.

According to Cosmic Media, who shared both videos on X, fans are in for plenty of action. But the excitement doesn’t stop at the suit. Some of the set photos from Glasgow also show armored vehicles marked with a red demon logo. Reports pointed out that the symbol looks a lot like the one used by the Inner Demons gang from the comics. That gang is led by Mister Negative, a fan-favorite villain. Russell suggested that this could mean Mister Negative is making his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The filming in Glasgow will last for around two weeks and will cover several city center locations, including Merchant City, George Square, and Trongate. These areas have been transformed into New York City for the movie’s scenes.

One of the big action set pieces is also expected to be filmed there. Holland has said he’s happy to be shooting in real city streets again, sharing that it reminded him of making Spider-Man: Homecoming. He explained that working on No Way Home felt very different since so much of it was done on soundstages during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The movie is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, with Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers writing the script. This is the same creative team behind Holland’s last two Spider-Man adventures. Along with Holland, the cast includes Zendaya as MJ, Jacob Batalon as Ned, Sadie Sink, Liza Colón-Zayas, Jon Bernthal as The Punisher, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, and Michael Mando as Scorpion. Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige has teased that Bernthal’s Punisher will feel “different” compared to his earlier portrayals.

Filming isn’t just happening in Glasgow. After the location work wraps, production will move to Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, England, for more filming on soundstages. Brett Pawlak, who has worked with Cretton on several previous films, is back as the cinematographer.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the fourth solo Spider-Man film in the MCU and the 38th MCU film overall. It follows the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home and is the first in a planned new trilogy for Holland’s Peter Parker. Producer Amy Pascal confirmed this new direction back in 2021, saying work on the story began right after No Way Home was completed.

The movie swings into theaters on July 31, 2026, as part of Marvel’s Phase Six. With filming just beginning and leaks already fueling speculation, fans can expect plenty more surprises before the release date.
