Swinging into Action: Leaked Set Footage Reveals High-Octane Car Chase in ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is swinging into action, and we’ve got some exciting details about the film’s car chase scene and more, straight from the set! This new superhero flick, based on the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man, is the fourth movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Spider-Man series, following Spider-Man: No Way Home from 2021. It’s being made by Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios, with Sony Pictures Releasing handling distribution.
The movie stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man, alongside Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Sadie Sink, Liza Colón-Zayas, Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, and Michael Mando. It’s set to hit theaters in the United States on July 31, 2026, as part of the MCU’s Phase Six.
Filming kicked off on August 3, 2025, in Glasgow, Scotland, under the working title Blue Oasis, according to reports from Total Film and Glasgow World. The city’s streets, including Merchant City, George Square, and Trongate, are standing in for New York City, giving the movie a gritty, real-world vibe.
Director Destin Daniel Cretton, who’s working from a script by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, is leading the charge, with cinematographer Brett Pawlak capturing the action. Pawlak’s worked with Cretton before, so they’ve got a solid groove going. Filming in Glasgow is set to wrap up on August 26, with more work planned at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, England, for soundstage scenes.
The production’s been buzzing with excitement, especially after set photos & videos leaked online. Total Film’s Bradley Russell spotted armored vehicles sporting a red demon logo, which he thinks might hint at the Inner Demons gang from the comics, led by the villain Mister Negative. Could this mean Mister Negative’s making a big-screen debut?
Meanwhile, Glasgow World’s Paul Trainer noticed a rhinoceros head bust on set, sparking speculation that the Rhino, another classic Spider-Man foe, might show up. On August 7, filming also took place at Brookwood Cemetery in Surrey, London, adding a mysterious vibe to the project.
Now, a recently resurfaced set video showcases what appears to be a car chase scene with a crowd running in the opposite direction, and Spider-Man clearly saving someone by lifting them in the air.

Tom Holland’s pumped to be back in action, especially since this movie’s returning to the location-shooting style of Spider-Man: Homecoming. “I’m excited to start principal photography with location shooting, returning to the feel of making Homecoming, after production on No Way Home was restricted to soundstages due to the COVID-19 pandemic,” Holland said.
The car chase sequence, one of the film’s big action moments, has been a highlight of the Glasgow shoot, with set leaks showing high-energy stunts that have fans buzzing.
Now, with cameras rolling, the excitement is real. Fans are already speculating about the villains and the action-packed car chase, which promises to deliver the web-slinging thrills Spider-Man is known for. Keep an eye out for more leaks as filming continues—this movie’s shaping up to be a wild ride!
