Dev Patel stars in a new psychological horror film called Rabbit Trap, which marks the full-length feature debut of writer and director Bryn Chainey. The movie also features Rosy McEwen and is produced by Bankside Films in collaboration with SpectreVision.

Set in 1973, Rabbit Trap follows a married couple whose lives take a dark turn after they move to an isolated cabin in Wales. According to the official synopsis, when they accidentally disturb a Tylwyth Teg fairy ring, a mysterious child appears with what seems like bad intentions.

The trailer shows Dev Patel, known for Slumdog Millionaire and Monkey Man, and Rosy McEwen, who starred in Blue Jean and Apartment 7A, playing Darcy and Daphne Davenport. The synopsis describes them as a couple who are “freshly decamped from London and taking up residence in an isolated cottage deep in the Welsh countryside in search of creative renewal and acoustic inspiration.”

“When the couple set about exploring their new environs, recording instruments in tow, Darcy stumbles upon a ‘faerie circle’ that emits a strange, unidentifiable frequency; this odd discovery is followed closely by the appearance of an otherworldly child (Jade Croot) who claims to live nearby and is eager to befriend the Davenports. Soon the child becomes a fixture in their household, alternately ingratiating himself and raising suspicions, and exposing unacknowledged rifts and unexamined secrets that threaten to wreak psychological and spiritual havoc in the lives of his makeshift adoptive parents.”
