Kang the Conqueror was supposed to be the next big villain of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, taking over from Thanos for the next three phases.

Fans knew it wouldn’t be easy to replace Thanos, but no one expected how lukewarm the reaction to Kang would be. Jonathan Majors’ character first appeared in the Loki TV series as He Who Remains, the head of the TVA. This version of Kang had won the Multiversal War and created the “Sacred Timeline,” a single regulated timeline designed to stop other Kang variants from causing chaos across the multiverse.

Kang then appeared in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, but this time as a different variant. This version was quickly defeated by Ant-Man, which drew heavy criticism from fans, many of whom expected Ant-Man to be in serious danger. Later, we saw another variant, Victor Timely, in Loki Season 2. Fans really liked Timely, and the show got positive reviews.

However, off-screen drama complicated things. After Quantumania’s release, Jonathan Majors faced serious legal trouble. He was accused of domestic violence against his former girlfriend Grace Jabbari.

Once the lawsuit found him guilty, Disney reportedly decided to fire him. Marvel boss Kevin Feige later revealed that plans were already in motion to replace Kang with Doctor Doom, even before Majors’ legal issues came to light. Robert Downey Jr. returned as Doctor Doom, who was teased in Fantastic Four: First Steps. Fans are still unsure how Marvel will wrap up Kang’s storyline.

This situation has inspired some creative fan theories. One Facebook user shared what might be the simplest and funniest solution: let Deadpool handle it. The fan suggested a post-credit scene in Deadpool & Wolverine where Deadpool just shows up and shoots Kang in the head. As the fan put it, Deadpool would say, “We’re not doing that storyline anymore.”

The theory plays off a typical MCU pattern where post-credit scenes tease the next movie. But instead of teasing, Deadpool would wipe out the loose end completely. Fans are calling it a brilliant idea, arguing it would inject some unpredictability into the MCU and finally solve the Kang problem in one hilarious moment.
