Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi Welcome Their First Child
Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi have officially stepped into a new chapter of their lives, they’re parents.
The Stranger Things star shared the news on Instagram Thursday morning, writing, “This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption. We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy.”
The announcement comes less than a year after the couple secretly tied the knot in May 2024. The ceremony was officiated by Brown’s Stranger Things co-star Matthew Modine, and the two have been together since 2021.
Brown, now 21, and Bongiovi, 23, had both spoken openly about wanting a family even before marriage.
Previously, Brown reflected on her own upbringing and how it influenced her desire to become a mom. “My mom actually had her first child at 21, and my dad was 19,” she said while promoting her Netflix film Electric State. “It’s been my thing since before I met Jake. Since I was a baby, I told my mom, like, baby dolls. I wanted to be a mom just like the way my mom was to me.”
She also shared that adoption has always been something she considered as natural as having children biologically. “My thing was, I really want a family. I really want a big family. I’m one of four. He’s one of four. It is definitely in our future. But, for me, I don’t see having your own child as really any different as in adopting.”
Earlier this year, Brown explained that she and Bongiovi had already discussed the big topics before deciding to get married. “We talked about our political views, what kind of family we want to build, the kind of home we want to live in, the kind of relationship we’re looking for, the kind of careers we want,” she said.
“It’s such an important decision, and we wanted to make sure we were making the right one. I knew I was. It always felt right with him.”
For now, the couple seems focused on enjoying their new life as parents while keeping things as private as possible. But one thing is clear, parenthood was always part of the plan, and both Millie and Jake are ready for it.
