The film was written and directed by Wagner de Assis and adapted from the biographical account by journalist Marcel Souto Maior. Produced in Brazil and released in Portuguese, it depicts events in the 1850s and 1860s and recreates the social climate around Kardec’s inquiries and teaching career. The production uses period settings in Rio de Janeiro and Paris to dramatize the origins and spread of Spiritism in the nineteenth century.
‘One Piece: Episode of Skypiea’ (2018)

‘One Piece: Episode of Skypiea’ leaves Netflix on Tuesday, September 2. The feature length TV special condenses the Skypiea arc of ‘One Piece’ as the Straw Hat crew reaches the island in the sky and clashes with Enel and the priests while investigating the legend of the City of Gold. The Japanese voice cast includes Mayumi Tanaka as Monkey D. Luffy, Kazuya Nakai as Roronoa Zoro, Akemi Okamura as Nami, Kappei Yamaguchi as Usopp, and Hiroaki Hirata as Sanji.
Produced by Toei Animation, the special updates the arc with new animation and streamlined storytelling for broadcast in 2018. It adapts material from the manga by Eiichiro Oda and connects directly to the long running anime series ‘One Piece’, using the series’ character designs and music cues to provide a self contained retelling that works for catch up viewing.
