A Major New Report Claims Rey’s New Jedi Order Is Finally Becoming Reality
The future of the Star Wars galaxy may be starting sooner than many fans expected. While Lucasfilm’s next theatrical release is Star Wars: Starfighter, new reports suggest the film could quietly begin laying the foundation for Rey Skywalker’s New Jedi Order. If the latest rumors are accurate, the next era of Star Wars will not wait for Rey’s solo movie to introduce the new generation of Jedi.
The information comes from Making Star Wars, a website that has built a reputation for accurately reporting behind-the-scenes details about the franchise. According to its latest report, Starfighter will include a story connected to a new Jedi sanctuary, potentially making it the first project to explore the rebuilding of the Jedi after the events of The Rise of Skywalker.
The movie is set to star Ryan Gosling in the lead role. According to the report, he will play a character named Cade, who is described as a rogue with similarities to Han Solo. Cade is reportedly tasked with protecting and transporting a young boy, played by Flynn Gray, to a planet where Jedi are being trained. While Lucasfilm has not confirmed these story details, the rumored plot naturally connects the film to the future of the Jedi Order.
One of the biggest claims in the report involves the planet where this new Jedi community is located. The sanctuary is said to be built on a world called Adaria. It is reportedly filled with green landscapes, waterfalls, and architecture inspired by East Asian design. The report describes the location as peaceful and beautiful, while still featuring modern Star Wars technology such as landing platforms for incoming ships.
According to the same report, many of the Jedi living there are still students rather than experienced masters. They are said to wear traditional beige Jedi robes similar to those seen in the prequel trilogy. Although Daisy Ridley’s Rey is not specifically mentioned as appearing in Starfighter, the existence of an active Jedi sanctuary strongly suggests that her efforts to rebuild the Order are already underway by the time the story begins.
Making Star Wars also claims that Aaron Pierre’s character is closely connected to the Jedi sanctuary. Pierre reportedly plays one of the film’s Jedi, and the report says he will be involved in a lightsaber duel with a character played by Mia Goth. Lucasfilm has not confirmed who Goth is playing, leaving plenty of room for speculation about whether she could portray a new dark side threat.
The rumored cast also includes Amy Adams, Matt Smith, Daniel Ings, and Simon Bird alongside Gosling, Pierre, Goth, and Flynn Gray. While several of those casting reports have circulated for months, Lucasfilm has remained quiet about the characters and the film’s overall story.
If the rumors are true, how do you feel about Star Wars: Starfighter introducing Rey's New Jedi Order
When Starfighter was first announced, director Shawn Levy described it as a standalone adventure that newcomers could enjoy without needing extensive knowledge of previous Star Wars stories. If these latest rumors prove true, the movie may still tell its own story while also serving as the first chapter in the franchise’s next major storyline.
Fans have been waiting several years for updates on Rey’s New Jedi Order movie, especially after development appeared to slow following leadership changes at Lucasfilm. Recent reports have suggested that the New Jedi Order will become a larger storyline spread across multiple projects rather than existing in a single film, and Starfighter could be the first step in that plan.
For now, none of these details have been officially confirmed by Lucasfilm, so they should be treated as rumors. Even so, the idea of Starfighter introducing the early days of Rey’s rebuilt Jedi Order would give fans their first real glimpse at what the future of Star Wars could look like beyond the Skywalker Saga.
