Aaron Taylor-Johnson, 35, Shares Heartfelt Birthday Tribute to Wife Sam, 59, at 24-Year Difference
Aaron Taylor-Johnson and his wife, Sam Taylor-Johnson, celebrated a special milestone with a romantic trip to Italy. The couple traveled to Rome to mark Sam’s 59th birthday on March 4, sharing intimate moments from their getaway on social media.
Aaron, 35, posted several photos from their trip, showing the pair together as well as shots of Rome’s classical artwork. Just you and me… in Rome, he captioned one of the images, sending a heartfelt birthday wish to Sam. Sam also shared her own highlights from the trip on March 3, including a playful shot of Aaron mid-leap against the historic architecture.
The couple’s story began in 2009 on the set of Nowhere Boy, Sam’s directorial debut about young John Lennon. They married in 2012 and have since built a blended family that includes their two daughters, Romy and Wylda, alongside Sam’s older children from a previous marriage.
In 2022, they reaffirmed their love with a vow renewal for their tenth wedding anniversary. Aaron and Sam have made a tradition of celebrating each other publicly. When Aaron turned 35 last June, Sam posted candid photos of them playing cards and added a sweet note in French: Mon Amour. Je t’aime.
Their social media posts continue to showcase the couple’s deep bond after fourteen years together. Professionally, Aaron is busy with several high-profile projects. He recently starred in 28 Years Later but was absent from its sequel, The Bone Temple, which focused on his character’s son.
Later this year, he will appear in the heist thriller Fuze, directed by David Mackenzie, alongside Theo James, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, and Sam Worthington. He will also reunite with director Robert Eggers for the medieval horror film Werwulf, premiering December 25, which stars Lily-Rose Depp and Willem Dafoe.
Sam Taylor-Johnson has also stayed active in the industry following the release of her Amy Winehouse biopic Back to Black in 2024. She has been attending high-fashion events with Aaron, including the Saint Laurent Menswear show in Paris, while continuing to develop her own directorial projects.
The couple’s Rome trip highlighted their shared love for art, culture, and travel, providing a personal moment away from their busy professional lives. The birthday celebration, shared through their Instagram accounts, offered fans a glimpse into their close relationship, showing that even with demanding careers, Aaron and Sam prioritize time together and family.
