Aaron Taylor-Johnson is back in the spotlight, but not for the reasons he might have hoped. The actor, long rumored to be the next James Bond, is facing renewed attention over old claims of on-set misconduct that have resurfaced online.

The controversy traces back to a 2020 social media post made by Mexican actress Sandra Echeverría, who starred alongside Taylor-Johnson in the 2012 action movie Savages.

In the post, Echeverría accused the British actor of being reckless during a stunt scene, saying he allegedly slammed her against a truck with excessive force. She described the experience as painful and said it left her shaken and injured.

At the time, her story didn’t gain much traction. But with Taylor-Johnson now being linked to major Hollywood roles, including James Bond and possibly Batman — the old allegations have resurfaced, sparking new discussion about his past behavior.

People close to the production of Savages told outlets that Taylor-Johnson had a reputation for being intense on set. One insider told the press, “It’s no secret Aaron was a bit cocky back then. He’s always been very competitive, and sometimes that energy went too far.”

Reports suggest Taylor-Johnson privately apologized to Echeverría at the film’s premiere, though he never addressed the situation publicly. His representatives have not responded to recent requests for comment.

The timing of this renewed scrutiny couldn’t be worse for the actor. Taylor-Johnson has been heavily rumored as the frontrunner to replace Daniel Craig as the next James Bond , a career-defining role that comes with enormous visibility. According to trade reports from earlier this year, the actor had even received an official offer from producers.

Adding to the pressure, recent buzz also links him to the next Batman film under director James Gunn, who reportedly followed him on social media — fueling speculation that Taylor-Johnson could be in line for another iconic role.

Industry experts say the situation could complicate both opportunities. “These franchises depend on global audiences backing the star,” one casting insider told media outlets. “Even if the allegations are old or unverified, they can shift the public’s perception fast.”

Friends of Taylor-Johnson, however, insist that the 34-year-old has changed over the years. He’s been married to filmmaker Sam Taylor-Johnson since 2012 and is now a father of two. “Aaron’s grown up a lot,” a source close to the actor said. “He’s not the same person he was in his twenties. It would be sad to see his career affected by something from so long ago.”

As of now, Echeverría hasn’t made any new comments, and there’s no indication of any official complaint or investigation related to her claims.
