Adam Sandler’s Daughter Reveals His Strange Pool Habit, and Jimmy Fallon Refuses to Believe Her

Sunny Sandler had Jimmy Fallon laughing and questioning one of her funniest stories about her father, Adam Sandler. During an appearance on The Tonight Show, the young actress shared a strange family habit involving her dad’s swimming pool routine, but Fallon was not convinced that the story was real.

According to Sunny, she and her sister Sadie used to make fun of their famous father by copying his style and habits. She explained that they would dress up in Adam’s oversized clothes, carry Diet Cokes, and pretend to act like him. Their impression apparently became even more accurate when they decided to recreate one of his unusual pool habits.

“Me and my sister, we dressed up in his clothes, before that was popular and cool. The big shirts, the shorts, we held Diet Cokes and yelled about the air conditioning being off,” Sunny told Fallon. “And then we jumped in the pool with our socks on.”

The reason behind the sock-wearing joke was what caught Fallon’s attention. Sunny claimed her father actually wears socks in the pool because taking them off is difficult for him. “He wears his socks in the pool because he can’t bend to take them off on land,” she said. Fallon immediately questioned the story, refusing to believe that the actor known for his comedy would actually do something like that.

“That is not true at all,” Fallon said. “He’s the funniest dude ever.” Sunny continued to defend her story, insisting that it really happened. When Fallon asked how Adam would eventually remove the socks, Sunny explained that he would handle it while already in the water. “Yes, and then he’ll drain them,” she said, adding that afterward, “you play catch with them.”

While there is no clear public evidence showing Adam Sandler actually swimming with socks on, fans have noticed that the actor has played similar jokes with clothing and footwear before. In the 1995 comedy Billy Madison, Sandler’s character is shown relaxing in a pool while still wearing socks and shoes.

The pool story was not the only family memory Sunny shared during her appearance. She also talked about her early connection to acting and her childhood experiences on her father’s movie sets.

Sunny made her first movie appearance as a baby in 2010’s Grown Ups, and she told Fallon that she still remembers some moments from filming. However, she admitted that some of those memories may come from hearing her family talk about them over the years.

She recalled one stressful day on set when she became seriously ill with a high fever. Sunny said there was an ambulance nearby because the cast members were worried about their health while playing basketball in the heat.

“I had a 104 degree fever, and there was an ambulance there because all the guys were playing basketball and they were scared they were gonna have heart attacks,” she explained.

The ambulance ended up helping Sunny instead, as she was taken for medical attention. Despite the scare, filming continued.

“They put me in the ambulance and had to take me because I was burning up,” she said. “But we finished the movie! We finished the shot, so it was fine.”

Sunny also opened up about making homemade movies with her sister Sadie when they were younger. She said those experiences helped spark her interest in acting, even though Sadie often abandoned projects halfway through after coming up with new ideas.

Now, Sunny is continuing her acting career with the upcoming Netflix movie Don’t Say Good Luck, where she stars alongside Melanie Lynskey. She told Fallon that working with Lynskey was an easy and meaningful experience because they developed a close relationship during filming.

Sunny’s appearance gave fans a rare look at the Sandler family dynamic, proving that even one of Hollywood’s biggest comedy stars can still become the target of jokes at home.
