Adriana Lima has spent fashion month proving that a supermodel’s career does not end when the Victoria’s Secret wings come off. The 45-year-old Brazilian model has been a fixture at shows and parties across several cities this season. Her latest appearance in Paris, however, set off a wave of online chatter that goes well beyond the clothes.

Lima’s run through fashion month has covered a lot of ground. On Sept. 18, she attended El Corte Inglés’ closing party during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid in a floor-length black gown. Four days later, she was photographed in Milan after Vogue World, wearing a fitted black leather jacket with relaxed jeans and ankle boots.

On Tuesday night, Sept. 29, Lima turned up at the Revolve Magazine launch party during Paris Fashion Week. She wore a Revolve Los Angeles Rouen leather jacket styled as a dress, cinched with a wide belt and finished with an Aquazzura Envelope clutch. Red curtains served as the photocall backdrop, making the black leather stand out.

The look quickly spread on social media. Many commenters focused on her figure rather than the outfit, with some expressing concern and others offering unverified theories about the reason for her appearance. There is no confirmation behind that speculation, and it is worth treating with caution, since appearance-based guesses about someone’s health rarely reflect the full picture.

The event itself was a fashion-world moment. Revolve Magazine launched as an annual print-and-digital title with separate covers on Kendall Jenner, Teyana Taylor and Alex Consani. The issue mixes shoppable editorials, QR codes and a Los Angeles guide, and in Paris it was handed out through a custom vending machine at the launch party.

Lima shared the carpet with a crowd of models and creators. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Anok Yai, Amelia Gray Hamlin and Brooks Nader were among those photographed, and Revolve co-founders Michael Mente and Raissa Gerona posed for the house shot. Black dominated the night, with cutouts and leather as recurring themes.

Lima has addressed the topic of public commentary before. Recently, she told an outlet that she was surprised by how she looked in a set of photographs, but that the images did not reflect how she saw herself. She also said she embraces her age and will not change for anyone.

That attitude fits the way she has handled her career in recent years. Rather than leaning on nostalgia, she has kept up a busy schedule of events, runway appearances and brand work. Her appearances in Madrid, Milan and Paris show a model who still draws interest across the fashion calendar.

The bigger story may be what comes next. On Monday, Sept. 28, Victoria’s Secret confirmed that Lima will return to its 2026 Fashion Show, which will take place on Oct. 18 in Los Angeles. It will be her 21st appearance in the show.

Lima became a Victoria’s Secret Angel in 1999 and spent nearly 2 decades with the brand before her emotional farewell in 2018. She returned in 2024 after a 6-year break, and the brand described her 2025 walk as her 20th show. The 2026 lineup also includes Gigi Hadid, Paloma Elsesser, Imaan Hammam, Anok Yai, Candice Swanepoel, Ashley Graham, Abby Champion, Alex Consani and Devyn Garcia.

The show will also feature an all-women musical lineup and a search for a new Angel. For Lima, it is another milestone in a career that has lasted more than 25 years. With a busy fashion month behind her and a major runway ahead, the conversation around her may soon shift back to what she does best.
