‘Love Advent’ Star Miranda Kerr (43) Makes a Surprise Runway Comeback in Paris After Nearly a Decade
Paris Fashion Week has delivered plenty of familiar faces this season, but few have generated as much conversation as a model who had stepped away from the catwalk. Miranda Kerr, the Australian supermodel and businesswoman, has spent years focused on her skincare brand and family rather than runways. That made her appearance at a high-profile show on Wednesday feel like a real event.
Kerr’s modeling career began when she was a teenager, and she rose to global fame as one of the original Victoria’s Secret Angels. She was the first Australian to join the Angels, and she also built the organic skincare brand Kora Organics. By most accounts, she had been stepping back from modeling work in recent years.

On Sept. 30, Kerr walked the Stella McCartney Womenswear Spring/Summer 2027 show during Paris Fashion Week, her first runway appearance in nearly a decade. The 43-year-old model’s last catwalk before that was the Moschino Spring/Summer 2018 menswear and women’s resort show at Milk Studios in Los Angeles in June 2017. Page Six called it a surprise return, and the post passed 10,000 views on X.
It also was a homecoming of sorts. This was Kerr’s third time walking for McCartney, after appearances in October 2011 and September 2013. Her return followed an appearance at the Dior show the day before.

Kerr wore a seafoam green jersey gown that was knotted at the waist, with cutouts, oversized padded shoulders and a ruched column skirt. In a nod to the collection’s marine theme, the back of the dress featured shell-like ruching at the top. She finished the look with metallic silver sandals and a tiny silver clutch, and kept her hair in a braided ponytail with minimal makeup.
The dress suited the collection’s concept. Kerr and fellow model Karlie Kloss walked in looks that played on waves and water, and the shapes mixed drapery with sculpted construction. The pairing of rigid shoulders and liquid fabric appeared throughout the show.

The weather added to the drama. The show took place on a rain-soaked runway in the British ambassador’s gardens in Paris, with an under-the-sea theme that proved fitting for the downpour. Jennifer Lopez watched from the front row under an umbrella alongside Juliette Binoche.
The show also marked 25 years since McCartney’s first Paris show, and the designer used the moment to take aim at industrial fishing. Her label has never used leather, fur or feathers. The palette ran through seafoam, sage, coral, blush and chocolate, with dolphins airbrushed on T-shirts, hems that traced the curl of a Hokusai wave, and evening gowns that nodded to the draping of Madame Grès.
Kerr was far from the only veteran on the catwalk. Karlie Kloss and Amber Valletta also walked, and the guest list included Taylor Hill, Kelsea Ballerini, Sabrina Elba, Kat Graham, Amy Jackson, Natalia Bryant and Valentina Ferrer. Kloss and Kerr are both Victoria’s Secret alumni, which gave the lineup a reunion feel.
Their presence suggests that McCartney’s show leaned on experience as well as spectacle. The designer has long used a diverse casting approach to make her anniversary feel personal rather than purely retrospective. Fans online were quick to praise the surprise cameo, and Kerr’s comeback has been a talking point since the first photos appeared.
Kerr’s return does not necessarily signal a full comeback. She is also a mother of four, sharing son Flynn with ex-husband Orlando Bloom and sons Hart, Miles and Pierre with husband Evan Spiegel. A single show for a designer she has worked with before fits a pattern of selective appearances.
Still, a runway return after almost 10 years is notable in an industry that prizes novelty. For Kerr, it was a chance to revisit a catwalk she knows well in a design that celebrated sustainability. Whether she walks again this season is anyone’s guess.
What do you think of Miranda’s runway comeback?
