‘Agatha All Along’: Plot, Cast, Release Date & Everything We Know So Far

Share:

Agatha debuted in the Disney+ series ‘WandaWision,’ as the nosy neighbour-turned-powerful witch who tried to steal Wanda’s powers. By the end of the show, Agatha is defeated and trapped in her noisy neighbor persona, left powerless, which will obviously translate to the first episode of the show. The two characters share a connection from the comics, with Agatha being one of the most powerful magic users in the Marvel Comics Universe.

It wasn’t surprising when it was decided that Agatha would get her own show, the first spinoff derived from ‘WandaVision.’ Now since the release date for ‘Agatha’ is getting closer we decided to summarize everything we know about the show.

Agatha will be on a quest to regain her powers

According to the official synopsis, and some subsequent rumors and leaks that happened, the show will focus on Agatha as she tries to regain her powers. After breaking out of her containment in Westview, New Jersey, Agatha Harkness loses her powers and seeks out unexpected allies to help her regain her former abilities.

In the first episode we see Agatha finally break out of a spell she has been trapped in. She can’t wait to go back to her old murderous ways only to find that she is powerless. The only way forward for her is to embark on a perilous quest to get her powers back with the help of an unlikely friend or two.

The show is also rumored to include the Witches’ Road. Witches’ Road is a mystical plane of existence where the powers of female witches are increased when compared to male warlocks.

The show will also feature Salem’s Seven. Salem’s Seven was a group of magically mutated superhumans who shared the same father, Nicholas Scratch, and lived in New Salem, Colorado. New Salem was an isolated community of occult practitioners led by Agatha Harkness, with Scratch being her son. Scratch had multiple wives who bore him children, forming Salem’s Seven. It’s unknown whether the group will follow the exact same origin story as in the comics, but in any case we can expect a lot of magical characters in the show. The members of Salem Seven are currently as follows:

  1. Okwui Okpokwasili: Cicada
  2. Bethany Curry: Crow
  3. Athena Perample: Fox
  4. Marina Mazepa: Snake
  5. Britta Grant: Rat
  6. Chau Naumova: Coyote
  7. Alicia Vela-Bailey: Owl

In May 2024, the series was officially named “Agatha All Along,” referencing the song from the WandaVision episode “Breaking the Fourth Wall.” Prior to this, it underwent several working titles during production, including “Agatha with the subtitles House of Harkness,” “Coven of Chaos,” “Darkhold Diaries,” and “The Lying Witch with Great Wardrobe,” which were later disclosed as part of a marketing strategy.
