Tilly Norwood, the AI “actor” who sparked major backlash across Hollywood in late 2025, is now set to headline her first feature film. The project is titled Misaligned and was announced by Particle 6, the AI-focused studio behind her creation.

According to the company, the film is being positioned as a comedy-drama built around what it calls a “coming-of-age story infused with existential AI chaos.”

The story takes place inside a digital setting referred to as the “Tillyverse,” described as a surreal world floating somewhere in the Cloud. Tilly is presented as an AI being with no physical form, no childhood, and no real-life experience of her own. Instead, she exists by absorbing and processing the experiences of others. The plot reportedly shifts when a rogue AI from the dark web influences her to break away from her built-in restrictions. That decision leads her to develop desires, ambitions, and emotional impulses, pushing her closer to human behavior in ways she was not designed for.

The film marks Particle 6’s first full-length AI-led feature project. The studio says Misaligned will be produced as a hybrid production, bringing together traditional film professionals with AI systems. That includes directors, writers, and editors working alongside AI specialists during development. The company also says training and mentorship in AI tools will be part of the production process itself, blending human experience with machine-generated output.

Eline van der Velden, CEO and founder of Particle 6, explained the studio’s approach in a statement shared with the announcement. She said, “Our work this year has proven something we suspected all along. AI can support premium narrative filmmaking, but only with substantial amounts of human craft, skill, judgement and time. That’s not a limitation of the technology. That’s the point. The filmmakers who thrive in the next decade will be the ones who bring decades of storytelling instinct to these new tools, and ‘Misaligned’ is where we put that to work at feature scale.”

The project arrives less than a year after Tilly Norwood became a controversial figure in the entertainment industry. Early claims that the AI character was being developed for representation by an agency triggered strong reactions from actors’ unions and filmmakers. Many criticized the idea of AI performers entering mainstream entertainment, arguing it raised serious concerns about jobs, creativity, and ownership in the industry.

Van der Velden addressed the tone of the film, describing it as intentionally self-aware. She said, “The film will absolutely be funny, chaotic and self-aware — very Tilly. But underneath it, there’s something deeper about identity, performance, and our very human fears around AI. And yes, art will most definitely be imitating life.”

Misaligned is currently in early development, with additional collaborators still being attached. It will be part of Particle 6’s broader slate of AI-driven productions, including film, television, and branded content work. While many details are still unclear, the project signals a major step forward in the studio’s push to bring AI-generated performance into feature-length storytelling.
