Cillian Murphy shared a funny story about how a Peaky Blinders prop caused him trouble at an airport. The actor, known for playing Thomas Shelby, returned to his iconic role in Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, which hit theaters earlier this month before streaming on Netflix on March 20.

During a promotional chat with co-star Rebecca Ferguson, Murphy revealed that he likes to keep small items from the set as mementos. One of these items, a prop bullet, caused a major scare when security found it in his luggage.

Ferguson joked, asking if the bullet had his name on it. Murphy laughed and said it actually had “Tommy” engraved, a nod to his character. He described the chaotic moment at the airport: “They were like, all these guys descended with guns and everything.”

In the middle of the confusion, Murphy quickly reassured the officers. “I went ‘Oh fck, oh sht, I’m so sorry! It’s not a real bullet,’” he said. He offered to leave it behind, but security realized it was harmless and let him keep it. Ferguson joked that his celebrity status probably helped: “That’s a celebrity for you. ‘Keep the bullet, Cillian.’”

The movie itself wraps up the Peaky Blinders saga. Set in the 1940s, it shows an older Tommy Shelby living in isolation until a new threat draws him back into action during World War II.

Ferguson plays twins Kaulo and Zelda, who connect Tommy’s past and present, while Barry Keoghan stars as Tommy’s son, Duke. Returning favorites Sophie Rundle and Stephen Graham also appear.

Outside of Peaky Blinders, Murphy has stayed busy. He will star in Blood Runs Coal, a historical drama about a labor leader, and his production company, Big Things Films, is developing several new projects. Ferguson is also keeping busy, with her sci-fi thriller Mercy now on home video and the upcoming fantasy film The Magic Faraway Tree with Andrew Garfield.

As the final Peaky Blinders movie moves to Netflix, the story of Tommy Shelby will remain available for fans worldwide. Murphy’s airport mishap adds a lighthearted note to the conclusion of the long-running series and shows that even Hollywood stars have relatable, chaotic moments.
