Al Pacino and Dan Stevens Star in Upcoming Exorcism Horror ‘The Ritual,’ Trailer and Poster Released

A new exorcism horror is on the way! After several prominent releases in recent years, and building on the tradition of the cult classic The Exorcist, a new horror flick focusing on the controversial ritual is coming out next month.

The Ritual is scheduled for wide release on June 6, 2025. It is directed by David Midell and will star acting veteran Al Pacino as well as Dan Stevens as they handle the complex case of a young woman. The first trailer and poster have been released.

As stated, the movie will focus on the story of Father Theophilus Riesinger and Father Joseph Steiger, who have to work together on the case of Emma Schmidt, a young woman who’s allegedly experiencing demonic possession. At the same time, the former is struggling with his faith and the latter is dealing with his past, which adds drama elements to the story.
