Alec and Stephen Baldwin Injured in New York Car Crash Accident
Alec Baldwin and his brother Stephen were involved in a car accident in the Hamptons, New York, but thankfully both are safe.
Stephen Baldwin’s representative said, “Stephen is doing fine and is grateful no one was injured. He appreciates the concern and he can confirm that he and Alec are both safe and well.”
Alec Baldwin also addressed the crash on Instagram, assuring fans that he’s okay. “This morning, I was in a car accident. I’m fine,” he wrote.
According to Alec, a garbage truck he described as the “size of a whale” cut him off while he was driving his wife, Hilaria Baldwin’s, car. To avoid hitting the truck, he swerved and hit a large tree, damaging the vehicle. “I hit a big fat tree and crushed my wife’s car. I feel bad about that,” he said. “That’s all fine, and I’m fine, and my brother’s fine. My wife’s car is pretty smashed up. Big tree, big fat tree.”
He thanked the East Hampton Police Department for their assistance and said he would soon be flying to Los Angeles to be with his family. “I’m going to L.A. to see my family. Can’t wait. Going out to California to gather my family together, spend a few days out there and then come home,” Alec said.
He also showed support for his wife, who was recently eliminated from Dancing with the Stars. “I’m still so proud of my wife, Hilaria. I love you more than anything, and I’m very proud of you,” he added.
TMZ first reported that the Baldwins’ Range Rover struck a tree, and photos from the scene showed front-end damage to the SUV. The outlet also shared a photo of a nearby garbage truck. The company told TMZ that its driver was not at fault.
Alec, 67, was in the Hamptons to attend the Hamptons International Film Festival, which ended Sunday. He had also appeared at the Buffalo Film Festival the day before the crash.
