‘Invincible’ (2021-2025), the animated superhero series on Prime Video, has kept me glued to the screen with its raw emotion and brutal action. Created by Robert Kirkman, it follows Mark Grayson, voiced by Steven Yeun, as he navigates his superhero life under the shadow of his father, Omni-Man.

Season three, which dropped in February 2025, ramps up the stakes with eight episodes of intense battles and deep character moments. Here’s my ranking of every episode, from the least gripping to the absolute best, based on story impact and emotional weight.

8 out of 8 – This Was Supposed to Be Easy

Prime Video

This episode dives into the criminal underworld with Titan, Isotope, and Machine Head, showing a grittier side of ‘Invincible’. Mark and Atom Eve, voiced by Sandra Oh, team up against Multi-Paul and Mr. Liu, whose dragon form adds a cool twist.

While the action pops and Eve’s new battlesuit shines, the episode feels lighter on big moments compared to others. It’s solid but doesn’t hit the same emotional or narrative peaks as the rest of the season.

7 out of 8 – Powerplex’s Tragedy

Prime Video

Aaron Paul delivers a standout performance as Scott Duvall, aka Powerplex, a villain blaming Mark for his family’s death during the Omni-Man fight. The episode builds a compelling backstory in just 50 minutes.

Despite the strong voice acting and a gut-wrenching scene of Powerplex’s loss, the focus on a one-off character makes it feel slightly detached from the main arc. It’s powerful but not as tightly woven into the season’s core.

6 out of 8 – Oliver’s New Path

Prime Video

This episode centers on Oliver, Mark’s younger brother, as he gets his own suit and starts training as a hero. His brutal takedown of the Mauler Twins, especially killing one as it begs for mercy, shocks.

The clash between Mark and Oliver over valuing life adds depth, but the episode leans heavily on Oliver’s arc, sidelining other characters. It’s gripping yet feels like a setup for future conflicts.

5 out of 8 – Doc Seismic’s Revenge

Prime Video

Kicking off the season, this episode throws Mark and Rex Splode, voiced by Jason Mantzoukas, into a fight against Multi-Paul. Doc Seismic’s return, now controlling monsters from Earth’s core, traps every hero.

The action-packed start and the reveal of Dupli-Kate’s survival are great, but the episode juggles too many introductions. It sets a strong tone for the season but lacks the emotional punch of later episodes.

4 out of 8 – Time Jump Twist

Prime Video

A two-part episode splits focus between Mark invading the Pentagon, suspecting Cecil’s spying, and Allen’s off-world arc. The big hook is Mark traveling to a future where he faces a dictator, possibly himself or Omni-Man.

The character work shines, especially Mark’s unhinged moments, but the split narrative dilutes the momentum. It’s ambitious and sets up big questions, making it a solid mid-tier entry.

3 out of 8 – Viltrumite Secrets

Prime Video

Mark faces Conquest, a brutal Viltrumite, in a bloody fight that reveals the empire’s near-extinction. The episode ends with a key twist about the Viltrumites’ weakened state, shaking up the galactic stakes.

The intense action and Conquest’s menacing presence make this thrilling. It lands just shy of the top due to less focus on the ensemble cast, but it’s a game-changer for the series.

2 out of 8 – The Invincible War

Prime Video

Angstrom Levy returns, unleashing alternate Invincibles to attack Earth, leading to mass casualties. Rex Splode’s sacrifice, exploding to stop an evil Mark, hits hard, paired with Billie Eilish’s haunting ‘when the party’s over’.

The global scale of the battles and emotional fallout, especially Rex’s death, make this episode devastating. It’s near-perfect but outshined by the finale’s tighter focus.

1 out of 8 – Conquest’s Last Stand

Prime Video

The season finale pits Mark against Conquest in a gruesome, action-packed showdown. The animation leaps forward, and Rex’s funeral, along with Damien Darkblood’s return, adds emotional and narrative depth.

This episode nails everything—brutal fights, Mark’s growth, and a tease for season four. It’s the season’s peak, cementing ‘Invincible’ as a top-tier superhero show.
