Amy Schumer is once again dealing with heavy online attention, and this time it comes during a big change in her personal life. The comedian recently confirmed that she has officially filed for divorce from her husband, chef Chris Fischer. According to court records filed in New York, the couple ended their seven-year marriage following a separation that Schumer publicly shared last month.

Around the same time, Schumer became the focus of intense social media discussion after posting new photos of herself online. In the images, she appeared in a bikini and revealed that she had lost about 50 pounds. The photos and message were shared on her own social media accounts, where she spoke openly about her health, perimenopause, and the struggles her body has been through.

In her post, Schumer explained that this year is about taking care of herself. She encouraged people to value their health and the people they love and to move forward without regret. Several celebrities responded with supportive comments, including Courteney Cox and Jennifer Coolidge, who praised her look and her honesty.

Not all reactions were kind. As the photos spread, some online users began labeling her weight loss as a so-called revenge body. Others criticized her appearance and questioned her motives. Sources close to Schumer told outlets that the comments have been upsetting, especially since she has been clear that her body changes are tied to medical issues and not vanity.

Schumer has spoken publicly in interviews and online about being diagnosed with Cushing syndrome, a condition that affects cortisol levels. She also shared that she used the medication Mounjaro to help manage her weight after having a difficult experience with Ozempic. She has repeatedly corrected the idea that her transformation was cosmetic, saying she lost the weight for her health and well-being.

She has also pushed back against the timing narrative tied to her divorce. Schumer has said the focus of her life right now is her health and her six-year-old son, Gene. Addressing the rumors with humor, she joked that the split had nothing to do with her weight loss or the fact that her husband is a successful chef.

As for the divorce, Schumer described the decision as mutual and respectful. According to statements shared through media interviews, both she and Fischer chose to move forward with care and understanding rather than conflict.

Outside of her personal life, Schumer remains busy professionally. She recently starred in the Netflix comedy Kinda Pregnant, according to the streaming platform. The film features actors Will Forte, Jillian Bell, and Brianne Howey and centers on a woman who pretends to be pregnant to feel more relevant.

While her Hulu series Life and Beth ended after two seasons, Schumer continues to tour with stand-up shows and speak openly about women’s health issues. Through her comedy, acting work, and public honesty, she is using this period as a time of change and growth.

As the conversation continues online, Schumer appears focused on moving forward, staying healthy, and doing things on her own terms.
