Anne Hathaway may soon step into the world of superheroes, and fans are already talking about what that could look like. According to industry insider MyTimeToShineHello, the Oscar-winning actress is in talks for a big role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The report says she is being considered for a major part in the next phase of Marvel stories, though nothing has been officially confirmed yet.

This update comes not long after Hathaway reportedly turned down a different Marvel opportunity. Journalist Jeff Sneider shared that she had been offered a villain role in the upcoming film Spider-Man: Brand New Day, but chose to pass on it.

“Those were like legit rumours, and I’d heard that basically Anne Hathaway passed, and… Sarah Snook passed,” Sneider said while discussing the situation. He also explained that the role was meant to be an older female villain, but the plans may have changed after both actresses declined.

Now it seems Marvel could still be interested in working with Hathaway, just in a different way. The timing is important, as the studio is preparing for its next big era after Avengers: Secret Wars. Reports suggest that the upcoming phase, often called the Mutant Saga, will focus heavily on the X-Men and their stories.

This could include well-known characters like Scott Summers, Jean Grey, and Havok, with more attention on family dynamics and complex relationships. Hathaway’s possible role has not been revealed, but many believe she could play a key character in this new storyline.

Bringing in an actress with her experience could help Marvel as it shifts toward more character-driven storytelling. The focus is expected to be less about big battles and more about personal stories, which would fit well with Hathaway’s acting style.

Outside of these rumors, Hathaway is already having a very busy year. She is returning to one of her most famous roles as Andy Sachs in The Devil Wears Prada 2. The sequel is set to arrive in May and will also bring back Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt. Fans of the original film have been waiting years for this follow-up, and it is already one of the most talked-about releases of the year.

She is also starring in a new film called Mother Mary, directed by David Lowery. The movie is expected to hit theaters in April and features music by Jack Antonoff and Charli XCX. On top of that, Hathaway will appear in the sci-fi project Flowervale Street alongside Ewan McGregor. Another film, The Odyssey, is also planned for a summer release.

With so many projects on her schedule, Hathaway is staying at the center of Hollywood. If the Marvel talks turn into a real deal, it would add another major role to her already packed lineup. For now, fans are watching closely to see if she will officially join the next chapter of the Marvel universe.
