Apple TV+ Show Rules Emmy Night with Record-Breaking Wins
Apple TV+ has scored a major victory with its comedy series “The Studio.” The show ended this year’s Emmy Awards as the most celebrated program, taking home a total of 13 trophies.
According to the Television Academy, it collected four awards at Sunday night’s ceremony, including best comedy series, best actor for Seth Rogen, and recognition for both directing and writing.
The success didn’t stop there. Earlier this month, the show had already won nine prizes at the Creative Arts Emmys.
Those wins included awards for guest actor Bryan Cranston, casting, cinematography, costumes, editing, production design, and sound. That set the stage for its big night at the main event.
“The Studio” is created by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg along with Peter Huyck, Alex Gregory, and Frida Perez. It follows Rogen as a Hollywood studio boss who struggles to manage corporate expectations while chasing his dream of making good movies.
The series also features Catherine O’Hara, Ike Barinholtz, Chase Sui Wonders, and Kathryn Hahn. It premiered in March 2025 and has already been renewed for a second season.
The show quickly gained praise for its sharp take on the entertainment industry. Critics pointed to its bold directing style, long unbroken shots, and steady mix of celebrity cameos. It became one of the most talked-about new comedies of the year and entered the Emmys with a record-setting 23 nominations for its debut season.
That nomination count tied the record for the most ever for a single season of comedy. By winning 13, the series also set a new high for comedy wins in one year. Alongside the Emmys, it also earned the Television Critics Association Award for comedy achievement.
Rogen’s acting win was a standout moment of the night. Barinholtz, Hahn, and O’Hara were also nominated for supporting roles, though they did not win. Still, the overall results made “The Studio” the clear champion of this year’s awards season.
