Ariana Grande Debuts New Brunette Look After Two Years as a Blonde
Ariana Grande has returned to her natural brunette hair after spending the last few years as a blonde for her role as Glinda in the Wicked films.
The singer shared the transformation on Instagram with a mirror selfie showing her glossy brown curls. She captioned the post with a line from Glinda: “it’s good to see me, isn’t it? 🫧”
Grande also tagged her longtime colorist, Francesco De Chiara, who confirmed the change on his Instagram Stories, writing, “Here she is 🥰❤️❤️.”
The switch ends her three-year stretch as a blonde, a look she first adopted in 2022 while preparing for the two-part Wicked movie. Grande told Vogue in 2024 that even though she wore wigs, she still needed to be blonde to help her “find Glinda.”
During the promotion of Wicked, Grande’s hair ranged from icy platinum to warmer golden tones, often styled in high ponytails or updos. With Wicked: For Good set to premiere on November 21, the return to brunette seems to mark the closing of that chapter in her career.
The hair change also coincides with her return to music. This fall, Grande announced her upcoming Eternal Sunshine Tour, her first major tour since 2019. The tour is set to start on June 6, 2026, in Oakland, California, and will continue through early September in London.
