‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Had Up to 35 Actors Filming Together, Says Kevin Feige
Kevin Feige has shared new details about the scale of Avengers: Doomsday, and it sounds like one of the biggest productions Marvel has ever handled. Speaking in an interview with Fandango, Feige explained just how crowded some filming days were.
He revealed that the set could be packed with actors during major scenes. “There were days that 30, 35 actors were on set at the same time, some of whom have been playing these characters for decades. Some of whom have just been playing them for a year or so. And they both make them feel so comfortable that they can begin to further develop these characters.” he said, pointing to the massive size of the cast and the scale of the story.
The film is bringing together characters from different parts of the Marvel universe. It includes heroes from the Avengers, Wakanda, the Fantastic Four, and even the X-Men. This mix is possible because the story focuses on multiple universes coming together to face a major threat.
Feige also shared that some sets from earlier X-Men films were reused for this project. This connects the new movie to past Marvel stories in a more direct way and shows how the studio is blending different franchises into one storyline.
The movie is directed by Anthony Russo and Joe Russo, who previously worked on major Marvel hits. The story is written by Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely. The cast is led by Robert Downey Jr., who returns in a very different role as Doctor Doom.
This film has gone through several changes during development. It was originally part of a different storyline focused on another villain, but plans shifted over time. The return of the Russo brothers and the new direction helped reshape the project into what it is now.
Filming started in 2025 at Pinewood Studios in England and later moved to other locations, including Bahrain. Production wrapped the same year. The movie is now set to release in December 2026, with another sequel already planned for 2027.
Having so many actors on set at once shows how ambitious this film really is. It could be exciting, but it also raises questions about how well all these characters will be handled in one story. What do you think about such a huge crossover? Share your thoughts in the comments.
