‘Avengers: Doomsday’ LEGO Leak Finally Gives Fans a Full HQ Look at Doctor Doom’s Bust Set
Marvel Studios has kept Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom locked away for an unusually long stretch of promotion, and that secrecy has turned toy leaks into the primary way fans are piecing together his look for ‘Avengers: Doomsday.’
Between a handful of Hasbro figure leaks and a brief, heavily obscured cameo in the post-credits scene of ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps,’ the character’s silver and green comic-accurate armor has mostly been assembled through fragments rather than official reveals.
LEGO has quietly become one of the biggest sources of that fragmented reveal, with rumors of a dedicated Doctor Doom bust set circulating since earlier this year. Those rumors first solidified in June when a minifigure leak gave fans their most detailed look yet at the character’s design, closely matching what Hasbro’s own action figure leaks had already suggested about his hooded cloak and armored suit.
Now, a fresh round of high-quality images has surfaced online showing the full packaging and box art for the rumored Doctor Doom LEGO bust, giving fans their clearest look yet at how the finished display piece will actually look on shelves. The images show the completed bust alongside its included minifigure, packaged in LEGO’s now familiar Marvel branding with Doom’s green hooded silhouette glowing against a dark background.
The set, catalogued as 76345 Doctor Doom Bust, is rumored to include 379 pieces and had previously been reported to launch sometime in September, putting its release just a few months ahead of the film’s theatrical debut. If the set follows the format of prior entries in LEGO’s Marvel bust line, such as the Iron Spider-Man and Iron Man MK4 busts that also carried 379 pieces, it will likely function primarily as a display piece rather than a playset, complete with a stand and highly detailed sculpting around the character’s iconic mask and hood.
That exclusive minifigure is a notable detail on its own, since it would mark the character’s first new Doctor Doom minifigure in over a decade. Earlier leaks from the LEGO community had already shown that figure sporting Doom’s signature green cloak and silver armor plating, and the newly surfaced box art appears to confirm that same design carries directly into the final packaged product.
The timing of Doom’s rollout across merchandise lines has been unusually deliberate compared to how Marvel typically markets its biggest villains. Despite four trailers released for ‘Avengers: Doomsday,’ the character has been almost entirely absent from any official footage, with only a brief, shadow obscured glimpse offered in the post-credits scene of ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps.’ That scarcity has made every toy leak, from Hasbro’s Titan Series figures to LEGO’s own minifigure reveals, function as a de facto preview of the character ahead of any studio confirmed materials.
Interestingly, earlier reporting on Doom’s LEGO minifigure noted that his brick-built design includes small nods to both Thor and Captain Marvel, fueling speculation about what role those characters or their absence might play in the film’s plot. Whether that detail carries over into the bust set’s larger sculpt remains unclear from the newly surfaced images, though it adds another layer of intrigue for fans already dissecting every inch of Doom’s design for clues.
‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is set to arrive in theaters on December 18, directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, and reuniting several major MCU stars, including Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, and Chris Evans. With Doom’s on-screen reveal still being tightly guarded months out from release, LEGO’s steady drip of set images and leaks looks likely to remain one of the most consistent windows into the villain’s design until Marvel decides to show its hand.
