Reports suggest that Avengers: Doomsday will expand the Marvel multiverse across at least six different universes, bringing together characters and storylines from multiple realities in one major crossover event.

According to industry source Alex Perez, the film was originally expected to include a broader range of universes, but current information points to a more defined set of six key worlds.

Perez states that the universes involved include Earth-616, which is the main Marvel Cinematic Universe, along with Earth-828, the reality tied to the Fantastic Four. The X-Men universe is also expected to play a major role, bringing in characters from Fox’s earlier mutant films.

Alongside these, Doctor Doom’s original universe is reportedly included, as well as a pocket dimension described as a hidden or isolated reality. Another major addition is Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man universe, continuing the return of legacy characters from earlier superhero franchises.

Avengers: Doomsday is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and written by Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely. It is produced by Marvel Studios and AGBO and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. The film serves as a direct continuation of Avengers: Endgame and is the 39th entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The story centers on a massive convergence of heroes from across the multiverse. According to the premise, the Avengers, Wakandans, New Avengers, Fantastic Four, and X-Men all come together from different realities to face a shared threat in Doctor Doom, who is portrayed by Robert Downey Jr. The character is positioned as the central antagonist driving the multiversal conflict.

The film is part of Marvel’s broader Multiverse Saga, which was originally built around Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars. However, those plans shifted over time due to creative changes within Marvel Studios. The Kang storyline was eventually reworked, leading to a new direction focused on Doctor Doom as the primary villain of the saga.

Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled for release on December 18, 2026. Its sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, is planned for December 17, 2027. Both films are expected to conclude the current phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and bring together characters from across decades of Marvel and related film franchises.

Filming for Doomsday took place between 2025 and 2026 at Pinewood Studios in the United Kingdom, along with additional international locations. The project is designed as a large-scale crossover event, uniting multiple superhero worlds that were previously separate.

For now, the inclusion of these six universes remains based on reporting from sources such as Alex Perez, and Marvel Studios has not officially confirmed the full list of worlds that will appear in the film.
