Reports suggest the Russo Brothers are working on an additional Avengers film beyond the already announced Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.

According to industry source Alex Perez, this possible project may be part of a larger two-part structure or even a separate installment in the Multiverse Saga, though nothing has been officially confirmed by Marvel Studios.

Perez explained that based on recent information and statements from those close to development, there is another Avengers project currently being explored. He noted that it could end up being a continuation of Secret Wars split into multiple parts, or it could function as a standalone next Avengers entry after the current slate.

The Russo Brothers, Anthony and Joe Russo, are already returning to direct Avengers: Doomsday, which is positioned as a major crossover event in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film is produced by Marvel Studios and AGBO and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It serves as the follow-up to Avengers: Endgame and is the 39th film in the MCU.

Avengers: Doomsday brings together a large ensemble cast, including Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom. The story reportedly involves multiple superhero groups, including the Avengers, Wakandans, New Avengers, Fantastic Four, and X-Men, all converging from different universes to confront Doom.

The MCU’s next major saga was originally built around two films, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars, announced in 2022 as the planned conclusion of Phase Six. However, the direction of the storyline changed after several production shifts. The Kang-focused storyline was reworked following changes in creative leadership and casting decisions, leading Marvel Studios to restructure its long-term plans.

In 2024, Marvel officially confirmed the return of the Russo Brothers to direct Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, with writer Stephen McFeely joining them on the script. Robert Downey Jr. was also revealed to be returning in a new role as Doctor Doom, marking a major shift in the franchise’s direction.

Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled for release on December 18, while Avengers: Secret Wars is set for December 17, 2027. Both films are expected to continue the multiverse storyline and bring together characters from across Marvel’s film history, including legacy franchises from 20th Century Fox’s X-Men universe.

Production on Secret Wars is expected to begin in mid-2026 at Pinewood Studios in the United Kingdom and last several months. However, with these new reports of an additional Avengers project in development, the structure of the final phase may be more expansive than originally announced.

For now, Marvel Studios has not confirmed any third Avengers film beyond Doomsday and Secret Wars, and all details remain based on reporting from sources such as Alex Perez and related industry coverage.
