Dr. Martin Best has never been a fan of small town hospitality, and in ‘Best Medicine‘ Season 2 Episode 4 he is more desperate than ever to escape it. The installment is titled “No Place Like Om,” and it finds Martin trying to leave Port Wenn to meet Eden in Boston for the weekend. Naturally, Port Wenn has other plans.

If you want to know exactly when the next chapter arrives, what time it airs and how to stream it, you are in the right place. Here is everything we know about the release date, the time slot, the streaming options and what the story has in store for Martin and the rest of the quirky locals.

When the ‘Best Medicine’ Season 2 Episode 4 Release Date Arrives

The fourth episode is set to premiere on October 13. That makes it the next new hour on the schedule, since Episode 3 airs October 6. Fans who are caught up through the crate race installment only have one week to wait.

The second season runs for 14 episodes, which is one more hour in Port Wenn than the first season delivered. The order was originally smaller and was bumped up during Fox’s upfront presentation. That extra room suggests the network has real confidence in the show.

That confidence is easy to understand. Fox reportedly saw the series average around six million viewers per episode while its audience grew week to week. Good numbers like that tend to earn a show a longer leash, and a longer leash means more strange medical cases for Martin to grumble about.

What Time ‘Best Medicine’ Airs on Fox

The show lives on Tuesday nights. Reelgood lists the season premiere at 8 p.m. and says the season airs weekly on Tuesday nights. Time slot listings have varied a bit between outlets, so it is worth checking your local Fox listings before you settle in.

Fox also built a strong lead in for the dramedy. The series airs ahead of ‘Doc’ Season 3 on Tuesdays. Fox Television Network President Michael Thorn told reporters that bringing back sophomore shows in a significant way was a huge priority.

Thorn also said that putting the show back on the air in the fall alongside ‘Doc’ on Tuesday nights felt like a powerful move for the night and for the show’s long term prospects. In other words, the network is treating this cozy dramedy as a cornerstone rather than a stopgap. That is a big step up from its midseason beginnings.

Where to Watch ‘Best Medicine’ Online?

The easiest way to catch the episode live is on Fox itself. If you miss the broadcast, streaming is quick. New episodes debut on Hulu and Disney+ the day after they air on the network.

Other options exist as well. JustWatch lists the second season as streaming on Hulu and fuboTV, with purchase options on Amazon Video, the Apple TV Store and Fandango At Home. That gives viewers plenty of ways to keep up without a cable box.

Netflix fans should manage expectations. Season 1 is currently streaming on Netflix, but weekly Season 2 episodes are not expected there. The first season only landed on Netflix in August, well after its finale, and a second season there would likely follow the same pattern.

‘Best Medicine’ Episode Preview and What Happens to Martin

So what is actually going on in “No Place Like Om”? Before Martin can leave for Boston, he has to investigate the extremely strange behavior of three patients who all recently visited a meditation retreat. A grumpy surgeon, a mystery wellness getaway and a deadline to flee town sounds like a recipe for plenty of Port Wenn chaos.

The town’s other residents get their own threads too. Mark is affected by the high school’s graduation, and Sarah’s first guest in her rented spare room is her ex Eddie McCroy. That is a fun setup for Annie Potts’ Aunt Sarah, and it hints at the kind of ensemble comedy that keeps the show humming.

The series is built on a proven formula. It is an American adaptation of the long running British series ‘Doc Martin.’ The cast includes Josh Charles as Martin, Abigail Spencer as Louisa Gavin, Josh Segarra as Sheriff Mark Mylow, Annie Potts as Sarah and Cree as Elaine Denton.

With Martin once again trying to dodge the locals and Eddie McCroy about to stir up trouble in that spare room, will the good doctor ever actually make it to Boston, and which of Port Wenn’s problems do you think will keep him from leaving?
