A new wave of celebrity support has emerged for Palestine as a star-studded video promotes tonight’s Together for Palestine benefit concert at Wembley Stadium. The live-streamed event features performances by Paul Weller, Damon Albarn, King Krule, Bastille, and other artists.

The video includes messages from actors and musicians such as Cillian Murphy, Chris O’Dowd, Sharon Horgan, Caitriona Balfe, and Laura Whitmore, as well as international figures like Brian Cox, Malala Yousafzai, Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas, and Joaquin Phoenix. English musician Brian Eno, who helped organize the concert, shared in The Guardian that the event aims to inspire people to speak out against the violence in Gaza.

“Together, we know that the leaders of this country are complicit in the mass murder of civilians in Gaza and the West Bank,” said author Michael Wayne Rosen in the video.

Actor Steve Coogan added, “It’s important to speak out now, not when this is over. Right now, while it’s happening. For Palestine.”

The video calls on viewers to pressure their governments, demand a ceasefire, and support peaceful initiatives for justice. “We have to tell the truth on behalf of the people of Palestine,” the celebrities say. “It’s always been the artist’s role in society to speak out, to risk speaking truth to power.”

Cillian Murphy’s participation is notable, as the Oppenheimer star has been careful about publicly addressing the Gaza crisis. His recent support at the European premiere of the film Steve in Cork, Ireland, was highlighted by writer Max Porter, who said, “Almost every single hour of every single day of that entire almost 800 days, a child has been murdered in Palestine.”

Murphy’s presence during Porter’s statement and in the Together for Palestine video has drawn significant attention.

The concert at Wembley will raise funds for humanitarian aid in Gaza through the Together For Palestine Fund, which distributes donations via the charity Choose Love. Performers include Damon Albarn, Bastille, James Blake, Jamie xx, Sampha, and Palestinian artists Adnan Joubran, Faraj Suleiman, and Nai Barghouti. The video ends with the group saying in a mix of Arabic and English, “Together for Palestine. Stop the killing. Ceasefire now.”
