Piper firmly shut down that theory during her convention appearance.
“I am not the next Doctor. I am Rose Tyler in hiatus,” Piper explained, acknowledging the deliberately cryptic nature of her answer given that she isn’t currently filming as the Doctor herself. She admitted the topic makes her visibly nervous, joking that she was “sweating” just discussing it publicly, a reflection of just how tightly guarded the show’s future storytelling plans remain.

She emphasized that patience now would ultimately be rewarded once the show’s next phase takes shape.
