Several high profile performers have seen their career trajectories change significantly after deciding to skip major franchise installments. While some walked away over creative differences or financial disputes others chose to focus on different professional paths entirely. These decisions often resulted in a decrease in mainstream visibility and commercial momentum within the film industry. The following actors are notable for turning down or opting out of sequels to their most successful projects.
