Brad Pitt (52) and Angelina Jolie (50) Legal Drama Escalates With Trial Date Dispute

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are still not on the same page when it comes to their ongoing legal fight over their French winery, Chateau Miraval. According to recent court filings, the two actors are now arguing over when the trial should actually begin.

Right now, the trial is scheduled for February 1, 2027. However, Jolie is asking the court to move the date much later, to November 2027. Pitt is strongly against that idea and wants the case handled sooner. Reports based on the legal documents show that both sides are standing firm, leaving the final decision up to the court.

Pitt’s team says the delay is causing real problems for him. In the filings, he claims the ongoing case is affecting his ability to enjoy his property in France. He described it as interfering with the “quiet enjoyment of his home in France.”

He also raised concerns about how the winery is being managed during this long dispute. According to his side, the business has taken a hit and could face more issues if things keep dragging on.

Another big concern for Pitt is time. His legal team argued that waiting longer could make it harder to bring in key witnesses. They pointed out that Jolie’s former business manager, Terry Bird, has already passed away.

They also warned that other important people connected to the case could become unavailable or too unwell to testify if the trial is pushed back further. In their words, “The dispute has been stymied,” and they believe it needs to be resolved as soon as possible.

Jolie’s side sees things very differently. Her legal team says the case is complicated and needs more time to prepare properly. They argue that the situation involves international witnesses and detailed legal issues, which makes a later trial date more reasonable.

They also pushed back against Pitt’s claims about the estate. In their response, they said there is “no evidence anywhere that Mr. Pitt’s ability to live in his own home has been impacted by this case one iota.”

With both sides refusing to agree, the court will now decide whether the trial will stay in early 2027 or be moved closer to the end of the year. Even with this ongoing legal tension, both Pitt and Jolie have stayed busy with their careers.

Pitt recently worked on a new film called The Adventures of Cliff Booth, which will be released on Netflix. The movie is directed by David Fincher and written by Quentin Tarantino, and it brings back his character from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. His racing film F1 has also continued to perform well on digital platforms after its 2025 release.

Jolie has also been active in the film world. She received attention for her role in the biopic Maria in 2025. She also directed Without Blood, which first premiered at festivals in 2024 and later had a wider release.

For now, the focus remains on the courtroom. Until a judge makes a final decision about the trial date, this long-running dispute between Pitt and Jolie is far from over.
