Brooks Nader Responds as ‘Baywatch’ Casting Debate Continues
Brooks Nader is not letting criticism slow her down. The model and reality TV star has joined the cast of FOX’s upcoming Baywatch reboot, and her casting has sparked a lot of online debate. Some fans have questioned her move into acting, but Nader says she is not worried about the negative comments.
In a recent interview with The Daily Mail on March 24, she addressed the backlash directly and made it clear she feels confident about this next step in her career. She believes the entertainment world has changed a lot and that people no longer have to fit into just one category.
“I think the times are different and everyone is so multi-hyphenate now, and you can be both an actor and an influencer and have influence,” she said. Instead of seeing her social media background as a weakness, Nader views it as something that helps her.
She explained that platforms like Instagram and TikTok have made it easier for people to connect with audiences and build careers in new ways. “That’s the beauty of the culture that social media has created,” she added.
Nader also pointed out how different things were in the past. She said actors in the 1990s did not have the same opportunities to speak directly to fans or control their public image.
“We now have platforms. During the 90s, you didn’t have social media, you didn’t have Instagram or TikTok, and so people could use their voice now, and I think as long as they’re using it for good… I think that it’ll bring a vibe to the show,” she explained.
The new Baywatch series is trying to mix classic elements with a modern cast. Stephen Amell is part of the show, taking on the role of Hobie Buchannon. The cast also includes social media personalities like Noah Beck and athlete Livvy Dunne, who plays a young lifeguard.
The mix of experienced actors and online stars is part of what has made the project a talking point among fans. Nader plays Selene, the confident leader of the Zuma Beach lifeguards. Her character is strong-willed and often clashes with Amell’s character, which is expected to bring tension and drama to the show.
This is her first major acting role in a scripted series, although she did appear briefly in the 2018 film Backtrace. Outside of acting, Nader continues to build her career in modeling. She was recently named an SI Legend for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and took part in a major photoshoot in Baja California Sur, Mexico.
Her co-star Livvy Dunne also joined her for the shoot, connecting her modeling and acting worlds even more. With her growing presence on television, in modeling, and online, Nader is becoming one of the most talked-about new faces in entertainment. She is embracing her “multi-hyphenate” identity and seems ready to prove critics wrong.
