Camila Mendes, Alison Brie & Morena Baccarin Command Attention at ‘Masters of the Universe’ NYC Screening
At a recent New York screening for Masters of the Universe, Camila Mendes, Alison Brie, and Morena Baccarin each made a strong fashion statement, showing three very different styles on the same red carpet.
Camila Mendes stood out in a deep chocolate brown maxi dress that leaned into an elegant, earthy look. The dress featured a plunging halter neckline that extended down to the waist, held together with a small metallic gold ring detail. The fabric flowed into a long skirt with a bold thigh-high slit that showed off her gold strappy heels. Her styling was minimal but polished, with a slicked-back wet-look bob and simple gold rings that matched the warm tones of her outfit.
Alison Brie went in a completely different direction with a more dramatic and structured look. She wore a black velvet mini dress with oversized balloon sleeves that gave the outfit a strong, almost sculpted shape.
The off-the-shoulder neckline added contrast to the heavy sleeves, while a crystal-and-silver brooch at the center of the dress acted as the main focal point. Her hair was pulled into a soft updo with loose bangs framing her face. She completed the look with black satin heels and dark, understated accessories, giving the outfit a sharp, villain-like edge that matched the film’s fantasy tone.
Morena Baccarin also chose a bold but more tailored approach. She appeared in a cream-colored jacquard short suit set with a fitted blazer and matching structured shorts. The fabric had a subtle patterned texture, and the blazer featured strong shoulders and a row of covered buttons down the front. The look was modern and clean, but still eye-catching due to its unusual mix of formal tailoring and short-length bottoms. She paired the outfit with black strappy heels, a red lip, and a relaxed updo, keeping the overall style polished but effortless.
Masters of the Universe itself is a 2026 fantasy film directed by Travis Knight and based on the classic Mattel franchise. The movie follows Prince Adam, played by Nicholas Galitzine, as he returns to the planet Eternia after being raised on Earth. He discovers his home has fallen under the control of Skeletor, played by Jared Leto, and is forced to embrace his destiny as He-Man.
The cast also includes Camila Mendes as Teela, Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, Idris Elba as Man-At-Arms, Morena Baccarin as the Sorceress, and several other major names from film and television. The story centers on Adam’s journey to reclaim his legacy and fight to save Eternia with the help of his allies.
The film has had a long development history, changing studios and creative teams multiple times before finally moving forward under Amazon MGM Studios. Production took place in London in 2025, and the film had its premiere at the TCL Chinese Theatre on May 18, 2026. It is scheduled for theatrical release on June 5.
The New York screening added another major promotional moment for the film, with the three actresses’ contrasting looks drawing attention alongside the growing anticipation for the movie’s release.
