Camila Mendes Turns Heads at ‘Masters of the Universe’ Press Event With a Bold, Glamorous Look
Camila Mendes has stepped into the spotlight during the press tour for Masters of the Universe, the upcoming fantasy film from Amazon MGM Studios.
The film, directed by Travis Knight, is based on the classic Mattel franchise and is scheduled for release on June 5. Mendes plays Teela, a key character in the story and one of Prince Adam’s closest allies as he becomes He-Man.
At a recent press appearance, Mendes wore a striking fashion look that matched the bold energy of the film’s fantasy world. The outfit was a deep burgundy, form-fitting mini dress with an asymmetrical one-shoulder design. The cut left one shoulder bare and gave the dress a sharp, modern silhouette.
What stood out most were the metallic details built into the design. The dress featured curved silver hardware accents placed across the front and lower side.
One metallic piece sat near the chest area as a sculptural highlight, while another created a subtle cutout effect near the hemline. These details gave the outfit a futuristic edge that fit well with the film’s high-fantasy and sci-fi tone.
Mendes completed the look with silver open-toe mule heels. The shoes matched the metallic accents on her dress, creating a coordinated finish. She also wore chunky silver hoop earrings, which echoed the sculptural hardware details on her outfit and added to the overall bold aesthetic.
In Masters of the Universe, Mendes plays Teela, a strong and skilled warrior in the Eternian forces. Teela is the adoptive daughter of Duncan, also known as Man-At-Arms, and serves as a captain in the royal guards. She is also closely connected to Prince Adam, played by Nicholas Galitzine, and becomes part of his journey as he transforms into He-Man.
The film follows Adam Glenn, who was sent away from Eternia as a child and raised on Earth. After reconnecting with the Sword of Power, he returns to his home planet only to find it in ruins and ruled by the villain Skeletor, played by Jared Leto. Adam must accept his destiny and fight alongside allies like Teela and Man-At-Arms to save Eternia.
The project has gone through a long development process before reaching its current version at Amazon MGM Studios.
Alongside Mendes and Galitzine, the cast includes Idris Elba, Alison Brie, Morena Baccarin, Kristen Wiig, and James Purefoy. The film brings together a large ensemble of characters from the Masters of the Universe universe, combining fantasy storytelling with large-scale action.
Mendes’ press appearance look reflects the same strong visual identity that the film is aiming for, blending modern fashion with a sharp, metallic style that fits the world of Eternia.
