Chappell Roan’s Guard Under Scrutiny After Emotional Fan Incident and Past Celebrity Drama
A new controversy has emerged involving pop singer Chappell Roan’s security team and a high-profile past crime. The bodyguard at the center of a recent incident with 11-year-old Ada Law, the daughter of actor Jude Law, has been identified as Pascal Duvier.
Duvier, 53, is a veteran security professional who previously worked for Kim Kardashian. He was part of her security team during the infamous $10 million jewelry heist in Paris in 2016. According to sources, he was dismissed from the Kardashian team shortly after the robbery and later settled a multi-million dollar lawsuit related to the security failure.
The recent incident occurred at the Palácio Tangará, a luxury hotel in São Paulo, Brazil. Roan was staying there while performing at the Lollapalooza music festival. Witnesses said Duvier approached Ada Law aggressively while she was having breakfast with her mother, Catherine Harding.
The girl had walked past Roan’s table to confirm her identity before returning to her seat. Ada’s stepfather, professional soccer player Jorginho Frello, spoke out on social media, condemning the guard’s behavior.
He said the incident left his stepdaughter in tears. “Would he do that if he didn’t have her authority to do so? I don’t know,” Harding wrote, noting that Roan denied instructing the guard to confront the child.
Jorginho described Duvier as scolding the pair in a threatening way, accusing the preteen of being “badly educated” and harassing the singer. Roan later issued a public apology to the Law family, saying she was unaware of what had happened at the time.
Chappell Roan’s apology about what happened to Jude laws daughter is ridiculous.

If ur sorry, sit up, speak properly & apologize with some respect. Lying down & recording a video like u don’t care is not an apology.
The body lang says everything. This felt fake & entitled.🙄 pic.twitter.com/UyTZNDximk
Despite this, the incident has drawn serious attention from local authorities. Eduardo Cavaliere, the newly inaugurated mayor of Rio de Janeiro, announced that Roan would not be allowed to perform at major venues in the city under his leadership.
Cavaliere contrasted the behavior of Roan’s team with that of other global stars, saying, “I doubt that Shakira would do that!” He also invited Ada Law to be a guest of honor at a future concert in Rio.
Meanwhile, other musicians stepped in to support the young fan. Lewis Capaldi, who was at the festival, was seen cheering Ada up by taking photos and offering kind words. This controversy comes as Chappell Roan continues to rise in the music world with hits like “Pink Pony Club.”
However, her security team’s conduct has overshadowed her South American debut. Roan has also hinted that she may pause touring after this festival run, with no immediate plans for a follow-up tour.
The story has reignited discussion about the responsibilities of celebrity security teams and how past controversies can follow professionals into new roles. Duvier’s history in high-profile security incidents has once again become a focal point after this emotional encounter in Brazil, raising questions about how celebrities vet their teams.
